So I broke my Powell max3d 7’2” MH EXF casting rod in between the reel Seat and the butt of the rod. this is a split grip FYI. I spoke to @Delaware Valley Tackle on the phone and they were a great help and set me on the rite way. they advised me to make a clean cut with a hack saw where the break occurred. I than measured the inner diameter of the blank at the cut and found a piece of scrap graphite with an outer diameter close to that spec. I cut the spare piece of donor blank about 6” and sanded both the donor and inside of the rod for better contact surface for the epoxy added later. I added bushings to make for a better fit when shoving inside of the rod blank. After ensuring a snug fit inside of the blank, I added devcon 2 part epoxy liberally to the donor rod blank that would be inside and shoved it 3” toward the top of the rod and 3” toward the butt end.  I could not be happier with my first ever attempt To repair a rod. It’s as strong as it was new.
