Looking for a suggestion for a cranking rod that would throw 2.5 SB and Warts well.

I currently have a 704CB Graphite and a MB Launcher.  The 704 feels just a bit too light, but manageable.  The Launcher is a bit too heavy.

What would be a good rod in the middle?  705CB has been my primary focus.  Any feedback on the Tatula Elite Cranking rods?  Something a little longer than 7' would be great, but not necessary.

Thanks in advance,

Brian

Nothing wrong with a 705cb. The Veritas crankbait rod line up is pretty extensive if you're looking to save some cash.

I use a 705cb.

I also use a KastKing speed demon pro squarebill cranking rod.

To be honest it is a tossup on which one I prefer.

Generally, with divers I use the 705cb and with squarebills I use the speed demon pro.

Champion 764CB.  This model shines at 3/8 to 5/8 OZ.  I know it sounds odd to recommend another 4 power but this rod is different.  I have a 705CB but I would still steer you to the 764CB.

Another vote for the 705. Also a great makes a great Spinnerbait rod.

Hate when I don’t read before I post it. Sorry

Thanks for the input.  After reading some other reviews, this sounds right up my alley!  I'll definitely look into it further

St. Croix Premiere Series Crankbait Rods

Abu Garcia Veritas "Winch" Rods

Mid Range, Low Range? They work.

St. Croix Mojo Target Cranker.  Of course I like glass rods.

$130 or less if you watch sales.

I'd like to try the Legend Glass rods, but don't see them being $120 better than the Mojo.

i'm using an old steez flexlite 7'2 mh, and it'll throw a wart just fine, but it really shines with heavier baits like 2.5's.   they have released a version of this in the tat elites with randy howells name on it.

Got my youngest son a Crankster (the 7'2") version this year, seems like a very nice rod and cranks are his confidence lure.

I have been using a Daiwa Tatula M/MF glass and sometimes the MH/MF glass for the aforementioned crankbaits.
