BASS fisherman Posted November 11, 2008 Posted November 11, 2008 I got this today from an ad I saw on craigslist. He was asking $500.00 but through some negotiating I got it for $400, and got him to tow it to my house too. It's a 12' aluminum boat that came with a 7.5 HP Merc! Nothing special but I wanted something I could pull with my car and not ruin my cars transmission. The guy I got it from traded a bike he had for the boat whos previous owner was a Marine. He took very good care of the boat. I got this boat ay one heck of a steal! Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted November 11, 2008 Super User Posted November 11, 2008 You did good. Quote
BASS fisherman Posted November 11, 2008 Author Posted November 11, 2008 I like it because it is aluminum, so I can run it through some nasty stuff without many worries. Plus it is tiny so I can get it where big bass boats can't go. I'd like to deck it, but I want to get it out first to see what I think. I want to at least put a sound dampener down. Quote
Super User Sam Posted November 11, 2008 Super User Posted November 11, 2008 Super. Now you can be like me and get back into the trees and brush and little creeks. Just a word of advice....watch out for critters in the trees. Believe me, they are there, too. ;D ;D ;D Quote
gar-tracker Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 I would have never noticed the prior owner was a Marine : Perfect boat to bring out today. Quote
Super User firefightn15 Posted November 12, 2008 Super User Posted November 12, 2008 Motor's worth more than that. Sweet snag! Congrats Quote
Crawdadmike Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 Great Deal! I have the same motor 1978 7.5 HP Merc. for my 14' jon boat and it moves right along with no problems. make sure you have some weight in the front of the boat because that motor will lift the front up high. MikeS Quote
BASS fisherman Posted November 13, 2008 Author Posted November 13, 2008 Motor's worth more than that. Sweet snag! Congrats I know!!!!!! I told him that after I gave him the money, and asked why he was selling it so cheap. He just wanted rid of it. I can't complain though.........................yet. Quote
BossierBassHunter Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 Super. Now you can be like me and get back into the trees and brush and little creeks. Just a word of advice....watch out for critters in the trees. Believe me, they are there, too. ;D ;D ;D no freaking kidding. The one that I run into most are the spiders up in the limbs that hang over the water. Real fun when you go to get a bait un-hung and spiders are dropping in your 10' pirogue. Quote

Delmonte Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 Nice buy bro! My first boat I bought this summer was a 12 ft. v hull with a 5.5 johnson. I redid the whole thing with carpet, decks, lights ect.. I've had nothing but fun fishing with a buddy this past summer on it. 8-) D. Quote
farmpond1 Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 You've got a great little landing craft. It'll probably do a decent job for fishin' too! Nice purchase! Hope you get countless hours of great use out of it! Quote
