jfowler Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 I am going to install a 12v motorguide wireless motor to the bow of my boat. My question is do i wire the trolling motor battery to the cranking battery in parallel or leave it on a seperate circuit. I was thinking to leave the motor on a seperate circut and put the fishfinder/gps on the same circut or should i put the ff/gps on the cranking circut? Thanks Quote
Super User Jig Man Posted November 16, 2008 Super User Posted November 16, 2008 Put the tmotor battey only to the tmotor. Hook electronics to cranking battery. Do not hook crank and tmotor batteries together. Quote
Team_Dougherty Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 How many batteries do you have on your boat? Sound like you only have one. If it is a deep cycle battery you can hook both your outboard and electric motor to it. That is how mine is hooked up. If it is a cranking only battery do not do it. A cranking battery will not last very long. If you have a cranking only battery you will need a deep cycle battery to run your electric motor. www.batteryfaq.org Quote
