I caught my personal best on a cut off Mann’s Jelly worm.! My guess is the worm was around 9-10 inches. Grape color.

Yeah I’ve never fished that far south- Stick Marsh is the furthest south I’ve fished.

If I went there I would fish what I fish up here- Flukes, senkos, Zoom lizards , trick worms, speed worms, etc. Culprit worms. Might try the ol Mann’s too. Good luck !

I have a couple hundred 8" jelly worms in blueberry . Its a good size for both quantity and quality . I have caught thousands of bass on the six inch size , the 8 inch is a size I just started using the last two years and its worked well .

i've used them and also the Zoom Ol Monsters.  I fish them texas rig and use a light weight...1/8-1/4oz and peg it.  I like the slow slithering fall it creates.  I think it definitely deters some of the smaller fish to bite, but I'm surprised how many 12-14" fish I catch on it.

Good luck!

Don't worry about those being 'big worms'....in fact, they're only 2/3 the length of the truly big Mann's worms.

Now, I probably wouldn't be throwing 10-12 in worms in January, but, doesn't mean they won't work, too.

The Jelly Worm is still a solid big fish catcher.

If I had a nickel for every bass I landed using a Blackberry Jelly Worm, I could buy Wall Street. My PB was landed using a Jelly Worm.

Another big worm that's gaining popularity is the Mr. Twister mag 12" buzz worm. I'm going to order some before spring.

Those were the only worms we used to buy as kids.  Black and Motor Oil.  I still have several packages of them in the 6 inch size.

I use the OL Monster and Mag 2 worms a lot with good luck. I bought a pack black 8" Big Dead Ringers in black last year. Only got to use them once and caught a SMB on it.

I like throwing a big worm. Sometimes it makes me feel like I’m doing something. I’ve also caught lots of 8”/10” bass on the 10/12” worms.

I have a pack of the overly large power worms too and every time I muster the willpower to tie one on, I catch something pretty big. However, I think it intimidates smaller fish so the bites are fewer.

The 10 inch Strike King KVD Perfect Plastic Bullworm is a beefy bait.

Has plenty of action and is reasonably durable.

(well, it's better than a Senko).

We fish them deep on 3/4 oz size of these ~

Big Bass eat them.

8” black grape jelly worm is my favorite Texas rig worm.

Catches pretty good numbers too. My hook of choice for the big worm is an off set Mustad grip pin in 4/0. Best hook ups with it, and it keeps the bait  on for multiple fish.
