Super User N Florida Mike Posted January 22, 2020 Super User Posted January 22, 2020 I caught my personal best on a cut off Mann’s Jelly worm.! My guess is the worm was around 9-10 inches. Grape color. 2 Quote

If I went there I would fish what I fish up here- Flukes, senkos, Zoom lizards , trick worms, speed worms, etc. Culprit worms. Might try the ol Mann’s too. Good luck ! Quote
flbassmaster Posted January 22, 2020 Author Posted January 22, 2020 thanks dude! I will post a pic here if I catch anything 1 Quote
Super User scaleface Posted January 22, 2020 Super User Posted January 22, 2020 I have a couple hundred 8" jelly worms in blueberry . Its a good size for both quantity and quality . I have caught thousands of bass on the six inch size , the 8 inch is a size I just started using the last two years and its worked well . 2 Quote
flbassmaster Posted January 22, 2020 Author Posted January 22, 2020 looking forward to using them. I have one in black Quote
camman Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 i've used them and also the Zoom Ol Monsters. I fish them texas rig and use a light weight...1/8-1/4oz and peg it. I like the slow slithering fall it creates. I think it definitely deters some of the smaller fish to bite, but I'm surprised how many 12-14" fish I catch on it. 2 Quote
Super User Choporoz Posted January 22, 2020 Super User Posted January 22, 2020 Good luck! Don't worry about those being 'big worms'....in fact, they're only 2/3 the length of the truly big Mann's worms. Now, I probably wouldn't be throwing 10-12 in worms in January, but, doesn't mean they won't work, too. 1 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted January 22, 2020 Global Moderator Posted January 22, 2020 The Jelly Worm is still a solid big fish catcher. 2 Quote
swhit140 Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 I like using the 10" Power Worms in the summer time. 3 Quote
galyonj Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 A junebug or plum Ol' Monster is pretty money for me in summertime. 4 Quote
The Guy Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 I’ve used the 12” jelly worms, small bass eat them too. The zoom ol monster is is one of my top producers. 1 Quote

My PB was landed using a Jelly Worm. 3 Quote
Super User Mobasser Posted January 22, 2020 Super User Posted January 22, 2020 Another big worm that's gaining popularity is the Mr. Twister mag 12" buzz worm. I'm going to order some before spring. 2 Quote

Super User Log Catcher Posted January 23, 2020 Super User Posted January 23, 2020 I use the OL Monster and Mag 2 worms a lot with good luck. I bought a pack black 8" Big Dead Ringers in black last year. Only got to use them once and caught a SMB on it. 1 Quote
Derek1 Posted January 23, 2020 Posted January 23, 2020 I like throwing a big worm. Sometimes it makes me feel like I’m doing something. I’ve also caught lots of 8”/10” bass on the 10/12” worms. 4 Quote
Super User gim Posted January 23, 2020 Super User Posted January 23, 2020 I have a pack of the overly large power worms too and every time I muster the willpower to tie one on, I catch something pretty big. However, I think it intimidates smaller fish so the bites are fewer. 1 Quote

scbassin Posted January 23, 2020 Posted January 23, 2020 Here is another big worm that works. You can fish it weightless & swim it like a snake just make sure you are holding on when you do this. http://www.gambler-lures.com/13_Ribbon_Tail_Worm_s/42.htm 2 Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted January 23, 2020 Super User Posted January 23, 2020 The 10 inch Strike King KVD Perfect Plastic Bullworm is a beefy bait. Has plenty of action and is reasonably durable. (well, it's better than a Senko). We fish them deep on 3/4 oz size of these ~ https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Fin-tech_Title_Shot_Magnum_Jig_2pk/descpage-FTTSM.html Big Bass eat them. A-Jay 2 Quote
waymont Posted January 23, 2020 Posted January 23, 2020 8” black grape jelly worm is my favorite Texas rig worm. Catches pretty good numbers too. My hook of choice for the big worm is an off set Mustad grip pin in 4/0. Best hook ups with it, and it keeps the bait on for multiple fish. 2 Quote
Super User jimmyjoe Posted January 23, 2020 Super User Posted January 23, 2020 Strike King Rage Tail Anaconda ...... 10" in red shad. No I don't, but yes I did. ? jj 2 Quote
frogflogger Posted January 23, 2020 Posted January 23, 2020 11" Case plastics big momma is another good one - I mostly use straight tail worms. 2 Quote
