I have two 14' semi-v boats that I use in electric only lakes for the most part. I do have a 25 hp motor that I need to get running again. I am currently running a Garmin 93SV up front, that runs all the way to the back, where the transducer is attached to an old mind Kota trolling motor that I removed the prop and the handle for. I want to run my second unit up front and attach the transducer to the trolling motor. I didn't buy a transducer yet. Which transducer will fit on a mini Kota power drive v2 55lb 54"? and how do I mount it. thanks

I suppose that depends on the transducer, here’s what I have135E9CED-B5C7-47FB-AEE2-5CC5B4D6347B.png

You'll need to make sure the transducer can fit between the skeg and prop on the PowerDrive.  I don't know what that distance is but any sidescan transducer will be at least 6" in length

Oh, my fault, I googled and clicked too quickly.  It might be better to figure out what transducer comes with what unit you are looking at.  The TD type is more relevant than the unit screen type.  One of my units is a 73sv that came with a CV52 and the other unit is an Ultra, that came with a GT52UHD.  Long story short, I tried to swap the transducers when I bought the ultra, so I know for sure that both TDs fit on the TM mount that came with the Ultra. But the ultra wont recognize the CV52 due to the "stiching" side scan softwear that Garmin was using with the CV TDs.

This is the one I have:

Looking at your original post, are you buying a second sonar unit, or just buying a transducer? If you are buying a whole second unit, it should come with the TM mount (the 73, 93, and ultra do anyway).

thanks for the help with this, much appreciated. Its why I love this community so much you help me, and then I help others, all trying to get better at fishing.

I currently have two older 94sv units, one transducer. Im running it up front, with a jerry rig like setup to an old trolling motor in the back transom. I need to buy another transducer. I am now planning on selling the two units and getting the new 93sv plus units.

Gotcha, there are some units out there still that come with the CV transducers, they are reduced in price compared to the ones that come with GT TDs.

The GTs TDs are a better product,  For me personally though, I don't really notice a difference.  The lakes I fish are smooth sandy bottoms with little cover, so side scan doesn't show much of anything anyway, whether I am looking at the 73 with CV TD at the console, or the ultra with GT at the bow.
