Super User Columbia Craw Posted January 17, 2020 Super User Posted January 17, 2020 Denny Brauer won a Classic flipping a tube. We used to pitch flippin tubes before beaver baits came out. Quote
papajoe222 Posted January 17, 2020 Posted January 17, 2020 I was a tube junkie until last season. I can actually count the number of times I tied one on and came up empty. I love 'em, don't get me wrong, I probably have 50 bags of them in my boat, but the bass in my home lake must have put the word out, so I changed my 'sausage.' Quote
RyneB Posted January 17, 2020 Posted January 17, 2020 I've won more money with a 3.5 inch tube than any other bait. It's my confidence bait, and it seems to always get bit. 1 Quote
johnmyers Posted January 17, 2020 Posted January 17, 2020 Catch lots of largemouth on 3.5” stupid tubes Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted January 17, 2020 BassResource.com Administrator Posted January 17, 2020 Yup. Tubes work for largemouth bass just as well - if not better - as smallmouth bass. 2 Quote
Mbirdsley Posted January 18, 2020 Posted January 18, 2020 Oh heck yes large mouths like tubes. One of my favorite do nothing presentations. Cast, let it sink to the bottom, reel it back while maintaining bottom contact. Doesn’t hurt to twitch or kill it once in a while. Actually all things like tubes; walleye, northern pike, steel head and so on and so on. If the bottom is clear I use a tube jig. If there is weeds or trash around t-rig it. I always throw tubes on spinning gear this one and many others like it were caught on a 4 inch zoom green pumpkin tube doing what I described above. Quote
