SV1000 Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 A polished duck hunting boat would probably be counterproductive but I like the results of this guy's detail. If I can stop fishing long enough I may see how Mother's Aluminum polish works on my Lowe. Rest of Story: http://www.meguiarsonline.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=273 Quote
Don B Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 This stuff will do the job too.... http://www.sharkhide.com/index.htm Quote
BassBird Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 very, very, very impressive polish job!!!!! Quote
Team_Dougherty Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 That does look nice. I would imagine it would cause a lot of glare on the water. I hope the inside is not like that. Talk about a sun burn. Quote
Tucson Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 It would be a shame to launch it and get it all wet! Quote
Scott C Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 Holy elbow grease, batman!! My arms hurt just looking at that! Quote
patcolorado Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 What did you use to get the blue color on the sides? 8-) Quote
Super User Tin Posted April 5, 2008 Super User Posted April 5, 2008 Looks awsome! I did mine last year w/ Mother's Polish. It was too shiney for our super clear water though. Quote
skillet Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 Man, what a shine ! I really love me some Mother's but wouldn't it take quite a bit for a boat. I've used it on my '67 Chevy truck wheels, bumpers and other chrome. I haven't found anything better... As Ever, skillet Quote

Super User Sam Posted April 5, 2008 Super User Posted April 5, 2008 Don't put it in the water. I looks like a chrome Rat-L-Trap! Bass will hit it and sink it. But nice job with the shine!!!! Quote
skillet Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 Tin, Power Tool junky that I am and never thought of the polisher :-[... As Ever, skillet Quote
DANA Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 OMG I HAVE TO GET SOME FOR MY TIN BOAT. DO YOU HAVE ANY BEFORE PICS Quote
SudoomFisher Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 I used the mothers powerball on my snowmobile tunnel and that made it really quick to get a shine close to that. Once you get the crud off with the powerball, polishing by hand is much easier to get the shine like that. Quote
DANA Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 No mater what I tried it was hard, we had to wet sand it to get the crud off and talk about the black stuff coming off, here is a pic with the crud Quote
DANA Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 I used something besides mothers I can't remember the name. I think after I am done puting in the new carpet I will try some mothers. Quote
