For being a China made reel, the LFS still feels decent enough. It’s MSRP is $159, so I would imagine it’s in their Korean tier, but I haven’t seen a list of which reels are manufactured in which country. Just speculation. Quote

Jmoney402 Posted January 13, 2020 Posted January 13, 2020 I own a Tatula SV TW that I throw weightless plastics on and love it. I also own a Tatula 100 I like alot, some lews tournament mb's that are ok but the tat 100 and sv's are better. I own a lews bb1 that I like a lot and would get that over the crush, it's at the same $160 price point and can be found cheaper. Casting wise the bb1 is maybe a bit better than a Tatula 100 but I like the feel of the daiwa a bit more due to it being low profile. I did a fair amount of research on the Tatula Elitex have one on the way and am excited to try in the spring Quote

I really want to try a Tat 100 because I love smaller reels, but I may just go with fuegos for the remainder of my lineup due to the value/cost ratio. Quote

I'm happy to have my 200-300$ reels. I'm buying more for sure. I have my eye on the Elite Long Cast. I like tech and gadgets and gear, but if those more expensive reels were taken away then replaced by Fuegos I wouldn't skip a beat. It's not like a revelation going from a 300$ reel to a Fuego. If anything the Fuego is under priced for what it is. Other than a few more yards that can be gotten using a Curado K with heavier baits, the Fuego is the better all around reel, IMO, as I can definitely throw lighter baits more consistently/better with it. I have one Fuego on a frog rod and the other gets moved from rod to rod depending on what I'm up to. Both have gotten tons of fishing hours and lots of landed fish and are both as smooth as when I got them. My Tat SV went geary and the brake inductor ramp sheared with similar use. Still a fine reel after repairs, but more of a specific use reel than the Fuego, IMO. The point is, you're not making much of a compromise by filling rods with Fuegos instead of something else. It's not a Steez A or an Anteres or a Bantam, but it's not far off in practical use from most of the more reasonably priced expensive reels. Clean and lube the bearings and you're ready to go. 1 Quote
SuperDuty Posted January 17, 2020 Posted January 17, 2020 Very glad I stumbled on this thread! I think I'll have to try out one of these fuegos this summer. Quote
Russ E Posted January 17, 2020 Posted January 17, 2020 I know a lot of people say the tatula ct and the fuego are the same minus the t-wing, but I disagree. I have two fuegos, four tatula ct and 2 tatula sv reels. . While the Fuegos are nice reels, all four of my Ct reels feel smoother. the tatula sv reels are a lot smoother. The one benefit of the Fuego is the standard line guide. If you run the line over your finger while retreiving with the T-wing, sometimes the line will not be level on the reel. I use fuegos for super flukes and plastic worms. With everything else I use a Tatula. Quote
swhit140 Posted January 18, 2020 Posted January 18, 2020 I have four Fuego CT, 1 Fuego LT & 1 Tatula CT(import model different finish/knobs), all my Fuego reels I scored between $65 to $75.00. I updated all my reels last season, I had a couple older Curado reels that I sold for $110.00 each so I invested the money into some newer Daiwa reels. So I basically didn't have to invest much money switching out my old models. Now I'm rolling all Daiwa. Quote
Super User Hammer 4 Posted January 18, 2020 Super User Posted January 18, 2020 In my case, my Fuego is as smooth as my other more spendy Diawa reels..I was really surprisedat how smooth it was right out of the box. Quote
