Comfortably Numb Posted January 7, 2020 Posted January 7, 2020 So if a jerkbait suspends in my 65* house tank, what will it do in colder 45* water? Colder water is more dense so I always thought it would float more, or do I have it backwards? Ty Quote
Super User MN Fisher Posted January 7, 2020 Super User Posted January 7, 2020 Colder water is more dense - down to 39O - after that it gets less dense. Also, the cold will cause hard-plastic lures to shrink slightly...making them a bit more dense as well. Personally, I think it's a wash. Quote

In reality, there are several other factors to take into consideration to determine what will actually happen. An actual difference may or may not be readily apparent on the water. Quote
