Super User fishballer06 Posted January 6, 2020 Super User Posted January 6, 2020 The time has come for the 2020 Fantasy Fishing season to begin. For those unfamiliar, we have been doing this for a few years now as a fun way to compete and have a little fun among all our members. Do you think you have what it takes to take home 1st place for the season? Group Name: BassResource Password: BR2020 We encourage all members to play along. Just pick your anglers prior to each BASS Elite event and share them (or don't) with the group. It's all part of the fun! 6 Quote
JediAmoeba Posted January 7, 2020 Posted January 7, 2020 Is this an ongoing thing where you need to update a lineup, etc? Quote

Each event, you pick 5 guys for your roster. There are 5 buckets of guys to choose from, so you try to pick who you think will do best in that bucket. So 10 total events between February and August that you'll need to select a roster for. Certainly not as grueling as doing fantasy football or baseball. 1 Quote

NittyGrittyBoy Posted January 7, 2020 Posted January 7, 2020 Maybe, but I'm watching the weather to see what the bass do. Each of em has their strong points. St.Johns is one of my absolute favorite fisheries. 1 Quote

OCdockskipper Posted January 8, 2020 Posted January 8, 2020 Did you notice the change in prizes? Rapala is now involved & has upped the prizes for each event. 1st place per event now totals $4000 ($4500 for BASS members), an increase of $1500. Further, they are now awarding prizes for the top 20 per event, not just first. 2nd thru 5th is cool, $250 worth of Rapala stuff. The yearlong winner has been lowered, it no longer is a boat. It is a $15,000 BPS card, which could buy a small boat. 3 Quote

NittyGrittyBoy Posted January 9, 2020 Posted January 9, 2020 Watch all of last year's tournaments and you'll get a better understanding of different anglers. That's your homework for next week Quote
ohboyitsrobby Posted January 9, 2020 Posted January 9, 2020 I'm in. I sucked real bad last year. Very little confidence it'll get better. It's fun though Quote

I've been running this league on here for ~4 years now I believe, and I still don't think I've ever finished in the top 5 overall for our group, despite usually finishing in the 90+ percentile on BASS. I just hope that one day, someone from this site can win a sweet prize package from one of the events. 1 Quote
Dangerfield Posted January 10, 2020 Posted January 10, 2020 Thanks for setting us up again @fishballer06, I've joined a number of groups, TW, Spro, AFTCO etc. They all giveaway prizes if you finish in the top 3-10, varies by group. There's no cost to enter and you don't have to make extra picks outside of what you normally do for the BR group. We're all tackle junkies at the end of the day, just thought I would share to add some incentive beyond bragging rights. Got my picks in, but I'll switch them again closer to the event. 3 1 Quote
NittyGrittyBoy Posted January 10, 2020 Posted January 10, 2020 @Dangerfield Thanks, didnt know you could join more than 1 Group. ? Quote
