learnin Posted January 1, 2020 Posted January 1, 2020 Any reason to "upgrade" to carbon over oem felt on a new Stradic for bass fishing? Smoother, stronger? Quote
Super User jimmyjoe Posted January 1, 2020 Super User Posted January 1, 2020 I upgraded (via Smoothdrag) on one Stradic and one Daiwa reel. I think I agree with what someone said several years ago: carbontex is not smoother, but it takes the heat of extended drag use much better. So if you're gonna horse'em in with strong line (like heavier braid), stay with factory. It you're gonna use lighter line and wear the fish out, then use carbon. jj Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted January 2, 2020 Posted January 2, 2020 Smoother, stronger, longer lasting and most importantly in that case they won’t swell and bind when wet Quote
fvogel67 Posted January 2, 2020 Posted January 2, 2020 Stradic FL 3000 and up have carbon drags already installed. Quote
