I’m glad today is here. All the other ‘bowl’ games are boring. I’m not sure why 6 or 7 win teams get invites but oh well. The New Years Day bowls are much much better. Who ya watching and who ya got? I’ll be watching Michigan hopefully beat up on Alabama. Realistically I’m sure Michigan doesn’t stand a chance.

On Jan 1st, flipping channels between Michigan-Alabama and the Minnesota-Auburn until the Rose Bowl starts. Just a warm-up to the National Championship game which seems a long way out on Jan 13th

I’m still ticked off by the Clemson/OSU game outcome to watch the others. I told my wife it will probably take a month to get over it.

That was crazy. It was like OSU was marching down the field to win and that miscommunication on the route came out of nowhere. Everything leading up to that was crisp

Pretty good Michigan-Alabama game so far. Nordin (Michigan kicker) has been spot on so far. We’ll see how the second half goes.

Minnesota I think is surprising the heck out of Auburn and their fans.

Some serious boat rowin’ going on in the Golden Gopher State right now. PJ Fleck has a well coached team and it show in this bowl game...

He’s a pretty darn good coach that’s for sure!

Michigan didn’t surprise me.

Saban and Alabama closely resembles Belichick and the Patriots, simply hard to bet against.

I'm really anticipating Clemson LSU though, 2 great teams.

tOSU blew the game when the receiver ran left. Had he gone to his right tOSU would have won the game.

Yeah that one had me sweating.   The decision in the first quarter to go for it on the two came close to being a huge mistake.

It’s gonna be fun watching Eric Gray for the next few years.

12, why do we have so many bowls?  Money. Simply put, money.

The schools get the money; the locals get the money; the individual conferences get the money; and the bowl organizations get the money.

For the players, the satisfaction to play in a bowl game, unless you are going to be a first round draft pick and you sit the bowl game out so you will not get injured. It is a goal the coaches challenge the players to achieve.

I spoke with a past LSU AD and he told me that LSU would break even due to the expenses involved in playing in bowl games but it was worth it for recruiting and national recognition.  This is why LSU has the most appearances in the Sugar Bowl although the New Orleans merchants and strip club owners hated it when the Fighting Tigers would bus down the day before the game and the local LSU fans would go from their homes to Tulane Sugar Bowl or the Super Dome and back home, only.

With all the money involved with these bowl games I wonder if the bowls pick up the traveling expenses which can be over $1,000,000 when you bring the band, the team, the staff, the politicians, and in Bamasux's case, money to pay off the refs. :D
