Basseditor Posted December 30, 2019 Posted December 30, 2019 I bought a 60th anniversary reel when they first became available. My intention was to put it away and watch if the price might go up in a few years — then sell it at a profit. (Only 3,000 were made, supposedly) TW has it on sale for less than I paid for mine. So much for prices going up ha ha. They still have some in stock and the sale has been going on for a while. This leads me to believe that there is not much demand, nor will there be in the future. I’m torn, save it or just use it now. What would you do? Quote
Super User Hammer 4 Posted December 30, 2019 Super User Posted December 30, 2019 Do you like the reel, and have you used it..? If it were me, and I did like the reel, I'd put it to good use. Then again in maybe 2 or 3 years down the road, they may go up in price, kind of a gamble if ya ask me. Quote
MountainMan83 Posted December 30, 2019 Posted December 30, 2019 Just use it. The reel enthusiasts would never want it and the normal fisherman would never want to pay the price. With all the variants of the tatula and at such low prices, there's better options. Put that bad boy to work! 2 Quote
Basseditor Posted December 30, 2019 Author Posted December 30, 2019 Thanks for the advice. It’s still in the box, put away. I’m probably going to use it. Quote
mrpao Posted December 30, 2019 Posted December 30, 2019 You could always buy another one at the current sale price. They're pretty cheap now. One to use and one to stare at. Quote
johnD. Posted December 30, 2019 Posted December 30, 2019 I think the one to hold on to will be the Tatula Sv. There's a new one on the way , but there's gonna be ppl that swear by the old one. Tackle trap has a killer deal on them right now. I am in no way affiliated, just passing along a good deal. Quote
Super User iabass8 Posted December 30, 2019 Super User Posted December 30, 2019 It isnt really a special reel like previous anniversary reels like the 50th og zillion. Just use it. 2 Quote
Super User fishballer06 Posted December 30, 2019 Super User Posted December 30, 2019 If you're buying fishing reels as a retirement plan, I've got some bad news for you... 1 2 Quote
mc6524 Posted December 30, 2019 Posted December 30, 2019 I have several of the Zillion 50 anniversary reels. I’ve been using them for years. Quote
Basseditor Posted December 31, 2019 Author Posted December 31, 2019 When it comes to fishing stuff, you just don’t know if something will go up. Xcalibur XR50 or Paycheck Baits Transporter come to mind. Quote
