Super User Cgolf Posted December 28, 2019 Super User Posted December 28, 2019 I am thinking about picking one up next week from TW but have some concerns. I toss a lot of 3/16 ounce santone Rayburn swim jigs, fairly narrow head, and lots of other brands 1/4 ounce swim jigs and am concerned the box won’t hold them in place. I assume the 5/16 and up swim jigs will be fine. Normally I would just try it, but at 30 I would rather know before I buy. Hopefully @Bluebasser86 and others that have the box already can weigh in. Dens228 Posted December 28, 2019 Posted December 28, 2019 I can't tell you about whether yours will fit, but I can tell you I finally found the perfect jig box. Especially since I fish jigs more than anything else so I have many Quote

It does look super useful which is why I am considering it. Quote
Dens228 Posted December 28, 2019 Posted December 28, 2019 1/4 oz, but only a couple and they aren't as tight. The beauty of the design is they aren't going anyway, they just wiggle a bit. 1 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted December 28, 2019 Global Moderator Posted December 28, 2019 I don't have the jig box, but the bladed jig box holds a thin, 3/8oz swim jig head fine. 1 Quote

That’s the one I am looking at. Kind of a splurge but would keep the jigs I carry the 3 or 4 bladed jigs organized nicely for a weeklong trip. Quote

You couldn't turn the box upside down and expect none to fall out, but it sits on it's side in my boat's storage locker and none of them have fallen out yet. 1 Quote
Super User Cgolf Posted December 29, 2019 Author Super User Posted December 29, 2019 Looking like I am getting one next week. Thanks for the info. The way it will fit in my bag it will be flat so I am not too worried about jigs falling out. I guess this is one time I can be thankful I fish out of a small boat with no built in tackle storage lol. Quote

Is there a specific "jig" only box? I only see one labeled jig/bladed jig model, am I missing one that I do not see? Quote

I thought they had 2 different ones but there's only the one that I have which is the jig/bladed jig box. Quote

Super User Chris at Tech Posted January 7, 2020 Super User Posted January 7, 2020 Can you fit more than 1 jig per slot? Quote

pauldconyers Posted January 19, 2020 Posted January 19, 2020 Watching this video the guy talked about jigs that have a rubber band skirts hold fine but ones that have the tighter wire tires move a lot. Pretty much all my jigs are from Mike Siebert and I had him make them with the more permanent wire tie. I am curious if anyone that owns this can speak on if my jigs would not really hold in there very well or not? Quote

I watched the same video, and my take is they will be fine with the cover on but will fall out if you flip it over with the cover open. His test flipping the box upside down and nothing falling out is stupid, no point. If anything stays in it is a bonus, if something falls out, well we deserved it for tipping the box. I fully expect my 1/4 ounce swim jigs to move around a bit, a couple have wire ties instead of the rubber band thing, but ultimately not fall out of the slot. Hoping to have it at some point if it ever comes off back order. Quote
txchaser Posted January 20, 2020 Posted January 20, 2020 These edge boxes are probably Elaztech resistant... The lid is polycarbonate, so it should be fine, and the rest of it is made from much stiffer plastic than a typical box. Might make for nice zman storage. I just wish there was a sideways config Edge where the dividers ran width-wise instead of lengthwise, I won't stand them on end as they might take a set. But for a couple of combos (bubble gum and pink is a no-go) elaztech doesn't seem to bleed at all; one of the zman company videos had a bunch of random stuff crammed in a box, and I think @Team9nine puts random TRD's in a bag with no problems too. 1 Quote

Would I open it and flip it upside down? No, but why in the world would I do that anyways? 2 Quote
Smalls Posted January 20, 2020 Posted January 20, 2020 Are all the edge boxes 3700 size? I picked up the terminal box, and I love it, but I can only fit one 3700 box on top of everything else in my crate. Quote
RemyL Posted January 20, 2020 Posted January 20, 2020 They make one standard model in 3600. It's killing me. I'm all 3600 and love the design, but can't use any of the cool toys. I understand that the market for the specialized stuff is mostly boat folks with room for 3700's, but I can still hope for the future. Quote
