This might be a dumb question but, how do I or is it possible to put locks on my storage compartments for my boat? I have a 17 ft Lund adventure series. The top compartments and everything have latches but they don’t lock.. you lift up on the latch and turn and then you can lift the compartment top up but there is no way to lock these so my possessions are safe. What can I do?

Not an elegant solution, but you can put a couple lock loops on opposite sides of the lockers and fit a rod whose ends (flattened slotted) can be locked to the loops.  Anything in between cannot be lifted.

You can either replace the non-locking lid latches with an after market lockable version or

go for the cross deck lockable security bar that prevents the lids from being opened

or both.

Google boat box locks.  You will find a variety from which to choose.

If you don't want to spend a ton of money on locking latches - try CAM Locks.

I remember these being perfect for a boat that had non locking latches and locking latches ran like $30 each. Drill a hole and file the sides flat.

Note: no locking cam, latch, or bar will prevent a knowledge thief as all locks are pickable. See the lock picking lawyer on youtube. He is the reason you should never buy a hitch lock as they are all garbage.

Example: Master Lock Trailer Coupler

Replace the latches. You can get Lund locking latches from your dealer, or just get aftermarket
