Daubs Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 I figured I could post here and get some good feedback on selling my fishing boat next spring. What I really want to get is a jon boat with shallow drive or mud motor for duck hunting the Platte here in NE. Here's what I'm looking to sell this spring: Fourteen foot shallow V-hull alum fishing boat. Riveted with bench seats. I put down plywood up front and mounted swivel seat and a foot controlled 36 lb. Minkota trolling motor. Have ped-seat in back also. Merc 20hp outboard that runs well. I think the title says the boat built in 60's and motor is mid 70's. All sits on a trailer that is less than 8 years old (pretty much brand new when I purchased from guy in Missouri). Long trailer that pulls well. Boat will do 23 MPH on the water by my GPS. It's a nice rig but since I moved from MO back to NE I have gotten it wet three times in three years. Time to move it and get a duck boat. What do you think this rig is worth? Thanks, D. Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted October 22, 2008 Super User Posted October 22, 2008 500.00-700.00 if they are in excellant shape which is doubtful. 40 yr. old boat and 30 yr. old motor. Quote
Daubs Posted October 22, 2008 Author Posted October 22, 2008 Thanks. I'm hearing that range and a little higher in some instances. I've got $200 in trolling motor alone. And trailer is great shape. The Merc will start on 3-4th pull after sitting all winter up here in NE. Runs like a top. Heck, I paid $300 for a 14' jon with junk of a trailer a few years back. Appreciate the feedback. Quote
Super User cart7t Posted October 23, 2008 Super User Posted October 23, 2008 Typical asking price for a boat like that in the St Louis area would probably be $1000 - 1200. What you'll get for it is another question. How wide is the hull? Quote

That sounds about right for this area as well. It would really have to be something special to get more than $1000 for one that old around here. Quote
