Super User Mobasser Posted December 23, 2019 Super User Posted December 23, 2019 Who were some famous fisherman from your state? Your answer could be a famous tournament fisherman, tackle inventor, or TV host of a fishing show. My own state of Missouri has some good ones. Guido Hibdon, Harold Ensley, and Virgil Ward are three of several. Who are some famous fisherman from your state? Let's recognize these men for the contributions they've made to our sport. 1 Quote

Way north bass guy Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 For our province, and really for our entire country, probably the one best known guy that nearly everyone knows is Bob Izumi. He and his brother Wayne were a dominant team on any big tournament trail here in the 70s to 80s, I think mainly because they were so far ahead of anyone else as far as getting information on new tactics developed in the southern states. On top of tournaments, “ The Real Fishing Show with Bob Izumi ” has been one of the top outdoor shows in Canada for many years. 2 Quote

Logan S Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 Roland Martin is originally from MD, though I don't think he ever considered it is home state fishing wise. There have been a handful of pro anglers from MD, I think the best currently is Bryan Schmitt. He switched from FLW to the Elites this season and should be a contender. 2 Quote

Speaking of modern fishermen the most famous is probably Michael Hsiao or 1rod1reel from Maryland. 1 Quote

That's very true, I didn't think of the YouTube guys...But he and YouTubeFishingVids are probably more well known in general than any tournament angler . There's a couple other popular YT guys from MD and Northern VA. "Famous" means more than just tournaments, my mistake. Quote
