Chris244 Posted December 20, 2019 Posted December 20, 2019 Bought a Lowe winter project. So far sanded and painted. Next is the interior paint and decking it. 6 Quote
tander Posted December 20, 2019 Posted December 20, 2019 Before I bought my first bass boat, I fixed up 2 jon boats complete with front deck. Really enjoyed doing it. Caught just as many fish in those 2 jons as i did in my bass baots. Good luck on your project. Be sure to show a lot of pictures along the way. 3 Quote
Way north bass guy Posted December 21, 2019 Posted December 21, 2019 That’s a pretty sweet looking paint job! Can’t wait to see what the other side is gonna look like once it’s done. ?? 1 Quote
Chris244 Posted December 21, 2019 Author Posted December 21, 2019 Yeah I was going to do flat black but went with gloss. Thinking dark grey on the inside and matching carpet on the decks. Probably use aluminum angle to frame it all. Quote
bagofdonuts Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 I'd sure look at hydro turf before i carpeted the decks. 1 Quote
Chris244 Posted December 23, 2019 Author Posted December 23, 2019 I’ve never heard of it. I’ll look into that. Quote

Hydro Turf, Sea Deck, and Sea Mat are three well known brands of deck padding. I have Sea Mat in my kayak and love it. Way better than carpet! Quote
Chris244 Posted January 4, 2020 Author Posted January 4, 2020 All the pieces aren’t done yet but getting closer. 3 Quote
Way north bass guy Posted January 5, 2020 Posted January 5, 2020 Lookin good ??. With workmanship like this, you could go into the “Jon boat flipping business” and make a killing ?. Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted January 5, 2020 Super User Posted January 5, 2020 Good looking boat. You're doing a heck of a job. 1 Quote
NittyGrittyBoy Posted January 7, 2020 Posted January 7, 2020 Looks good, were you planning on using a foot controlled trolling motor up front? Looking at lid I'm assuming not. Great craftsmanship though! ?? 1 Quote
Chris244 Posted January 7, 2020 Author Posted January 7, 2020 No I’m not. Unfortunately I wasn’t thinking when I was looking and found a great deal on a stern trolling motor. Thanks you though. YouTube is a wonderful thing lol. Quote

Look up reversing the head on that, and mount it to the bow for a hand controlled troller. 1 Quote
bagofdonuts Posted January 8, 2020 Posted January 8, 2020 one of these on the deck and your all set. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/T-H_Marine_Rod_Tamer_Deck_Mount_Rod_Straps/descpage-THMRT.html?from=gshop&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIy-6I06v05gIVCMZkCh1UDA8gEAQYAiABEgIKfPD_BwE Looks good. Quote
skekoam Posted January 8, 2020 Posted January 8, 2020 You are obviously a lot more handy than I am. My son asked for a bass boat for x-mas. he's only 9 1 2 Quote
Chris244 Posted January 9, 2020 Author Posted January 9, 2020 Well thanks. I never really thought so lol. This is my first real attempt at fabricating something like this so it’s actually going pretty well. It’s a fun project/learning experience. 1 Quote
