LSU Fan Posted December 18, 2019 Posted December 18, 2019 I'm Bass fishing in The Piedmont lakes of NC and normally not during the colder winter months but want to give it a go before Christmas. I have but a couple questions, what baits or technique might work better? Most lakes around here have a slight stain yet not muddy color and at present surface temps at mid to high 40* Bad thing, for me, is at present air temps are at same temps mid to high 40*. Thank Guys. Quote

Super User Koz Posted December 19, 2019 Super User Posted December 19, 2019 Chatterbait with a small Rage Tail craw trailer. Lift and drop, not straight retrieve. Quote
Super User Chris at Tech Posted December 21, 2019 Super User Posted December 21, 2019 If it's me, I'm starting with jerkbait, jig, grub or keitech, shad rap, colorado-blade spinnerbait Quote
LSU Fan Posted December 21, 2019 Author Posted December 21, 2019 Thanks to you all, just returned late yesterday afternoon. Did catch a few but not really any big girls. I took your suggestions, Chris, by pitching a shakeyhead trickworm and a Jig to flipping a creature style bait close to standing timber and lay down structure. With water surface temps at or below mid 40* everything was worked SSSLLLOOOWWW. Quote
