IndyBass Posted December 17, 2019 Posted December 17, 2019 Beautiful sunny & 27° day so I wanted to hit a confidence pond and in less than 20 minutes I was rewarded with 2 nice size bass. Didn’t measure them cause it was just too d**n cold. I’m guessing the small one is about 3lbs & larger one is 4lbs. Top 2 are the same bass and the bottom 2 are the same. I purposely went out with a cut down Junebug Hulastick and I couldn’t believe how much fight they had left in them. First one was a thump & run while the second was a tic tic, actually thought I was feeling ice on my line. It was just fun to get out and land these. 13 Quote
Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted December 17, 2019 Global Moderator Posted December 17, 2019 Awesome. Since I don’t have to deal with it very often, I love snow 1 Quote

The Bassman Posted December 17, 2019 Posted December 17, 2019 Single digits coming tomorrow night. Might take several days to open back up. NWS is giving us a big warmup by Christmas. 1 Quote
Super User soflabasser Posted December 20, 2019 Super User Posted December 20, 2019 Nice bass. I would be fishing in the same conditions if I lived up North. 1 Quote

I live here and I do fish in the same conditions except for one problem; we froze over 3 days ago. Hope this warmup opens us back up before the next cold snap. Counting on some Christmas action. 1 Quote

One of my fishing goals is to go ice fishing at least once. I have a open mind so I will fish for anything from bluegills to muskie. Quote

I looked forward to ice up. In the 70's and 80's we had some very hard winters with ice from Dec. to March. But as I reached my 40's I decided that standing stationary over a six inch hole in single digit weather made no sense. I can tolerate thirty degree temps as long as I'm moving. 1 Quote
