Disappointed with the quality of the rods I ordered from Fenwick for this purpose. One of the rods had tons of glue on the guides and the other was damaged on delivery ( which was a week late ). Anyone have suggestions?

My suggestion is to include model when posting about equipment.   Every brand has a range of models and user experience can vary widely even within same brand.  I have 4 Fenwicks that I love; two Aetos and two ETSM's.

Fenwick may not be entirely responsible for shipping damage.  How was it packaged?

I have to echo what's been said, have always been pleased with the Fenwicks I've owned and still am.

That said , look for a 7' med fast and at present, liking the Kastking Speed Demon pro rods, give them a look.

I ordered through Fenwick's site, and they shipped through Fedex. Both rods were in a triangular cardboard box. They were just in plastic sleeves and got messed up pretty bad. I don't want to deal with them directly so I'm looking for something from TW as I love how reliable they've been, and how they package their rods.

The models were 6'6" Medium/MF Fenwick Lunkerstik's which are glass rods. I know they're one of their lower end lines, but that's what was recommended to me and they were half off during Black Friday.

Do any of you have experience with TFO rods? This one is on sale today, and seems to be in the right lure weight range.

I have a couple of Fenwick rods and never had an issue.  I can't speak for the Lunkerstik but most rods in that price range are so mass produced, they tend to be hit and miss when it comes to quality.

I've only called Fenwick once, and it was for something I did to the rod.  Customer service was friendly.  However, I decided to use the rod and see if what I had done caused a problem down the road since the rod was out of production.

I have quite a few Fenwick rods...both spinning and casting.  I've always felt I got good value for my money.  They range from old Elite Tech, HMG, Smallmouth, Techna AV, River Runner to the gen1 Aetos.

Personally I'd give Fenwick a call.

They've always shipped to me in strong cardboard tubes like TW. I'm not so sure but ok.

I called them to make a claim, and yes they were friendly. I was more disappointed with the quality control issue than anything. I'm sure this is less of an issue with their more expensive rods, and I do like the feel of the HMG line in my hand.

Yeah, I'm not against Fenwick rods, I do like how they feel. I'd just not rather order directly from them anymore. I'll stick to TW.

Falcon has some spinning rods designed for cranking in the Bucoo SR series. I haven't used one personally but want to try one because I throw a lot of shad raps and 1.0 cranks on spinning gear.
