Got it out by going up through the gill plate with the pliers on my Leatherman. Fish had no blood leaking out and swam off to fight another day.

About 10 years ago there was a group of speed trollers at our local lakes that caught a lot of big bass during the winter months. This group had some well known swimbait anglers and they trolled swimbaits about 4 mph. I thought at the time the technique was an effort to locate wolf packs of active big bass, then stop to cast to them.

I was wrong they figured out fast and erratic lures that looked like trout triggered more strikes then the slower presentations most of these anglers promoted.

I do this all the time. The problem is when you stop and cast you never catch anything. Go back to trolling and immediately start catching again

Sinking big swimbaits can be cast over 60 yards easily and control the depth nearly entire retreive. Crankbaits go down to a specific depth when they reach thier running depth and stay at that depth for only a few yards when casts but stay at the desired depth as long as the boat is moving forward when trolling. For this reason I teach new anglers how to catch bass on crankbaits by trolling them.

I am thinking these might work pretty good for trolling?  The new larger sized Shad Dancer, Rapala Black Friday.

5.7 last week burning a chrome lipless. “Hunting” divers are a different animal... but fast is fast. LOL

The tecnique is fast retrieve with stop and go to trigger a reaction strike.

I know this works and Megabass made a similar lure about 5 years that isn't any longer available, so very interested in the R2Sea Tactical lure but sold out until next March....back orders!

They suggested it pulled bites like and a-rig. I think that was a mistake. Just not possible. It’s a crank. I’m sure it’s good. I ordered 4. But that’s just over selling
