I got really sick during the summer. Then I got better, and for a couple months now I've been dealing with more serious illness. My wife had to go back to work as I've been bound to the house on medications. Humbling really, what's taken for granted.

Hoping that things work out and you can get back to enjoying this 'all-consuming' passion of ours.

Sorry to hear this.

Hope you can be on the mend soon rather than later.

No doubt the bass will be waiting when you do.

Literally all consuming. All I can think about is fishing and that should be the least of my priorities and concerns. The bug is real.

The last bass I caught was on a finesse jig and I'm just itching to pitch a jig and get my arm dislocated.

Man, hope you heal up quick and get back out on the water. Being sick sucks. Sending good vibes your way.

i picked up some kind of virus about two years ago which led to an inner ear infection. it took a while to get over that and i ended up with permanent partial hearing loss as a result. on top of that, i came down with what they called post viral fatigue which really laid me out. that lasted almost two months and scared me to death. i hope you get well soon and regain some normalcy in your life. think positive.

Praying your health allows you to enjoy life to its fullest and no better way than getting a line wet.

I just recently retired and hoping I can stay on the water for quite awhile yet.

Stay positive.

Praying for you to feel better soon!  But that undying love for our wonderful sport of fishing is what keeps us all going!  So just focus on that and work your way back to feeling better!

5 month update. I'm completely healthy and doing well. May it be God's will that I stay that way with COVID-19 creating havoc here at home and around the world.

Sad news. My wife left me for someone who I used to claim as a friend exactly 8 days after I posted this. He took the opportunity to slither in like a snake and I guess everything else was too much for her to handle so she made her choice too.

Needless to say the plans to move to Tennessee as a family are not going to happen. I have since moved out of Illinois and into Indiana (as of March). I've begun to see a woman who enjoys fishing as much as I do. I'm hoping to get back to the little ones back across the border here soon as things (perhaps foolishly) begin to open back up.

Caught a couple jig fish the other day. Life is good, truthfully.

Glad to hear you are feeling better.

As fisherman we always know there comes a time to cull for a better fish.

Looks like you were able to do this in life as well.

Best of luck!!
