Curt Bannworth Posted December 4, 2019 Posted December 4, 2019 Just got a new spinning rod dobyns fury 7ft medium. Took advantage of the tackle warehouse sale 20% off and got it for $95. I went against my gut and grabbed it before the sale ended without doing much research. Did I make a good choice ? It’s gonna be my bass finesse rod. 1 Quote
Super User MN Fisher Posted December 4, 2019 Super User Posted December 4, 2019 Well, if you made a mistake with a Fury, then I did too. Got a Fury 705CB as a dedicated crank/jerkbait rod with the sale. From everything I've read here, the Fury is a good rod in that price-range. Quote
Curt Bannworth Posted December 4, 2019 Author Posted December 4, 2019 I bought a dobyns sierra 7ft casting rod last year it was my first baitcaster setup. I didn’t fish with it hardly at all this year as I was primarily learning how to use and cast the baitcaster. The rod seems pretty awesome but honestly I’m so new to fishing I don’t have anything to compare it too. I can tell you though it’s a purdy rod. Quote
Super User webertime Posted December 4, 2019 Super User Posted December 4, 2019 You did ok. Now fish the heck out of it. Quote

Which model did you buy? Quote

Super User Columbia Craw Posted December 4, 2019 Super User Posted December 4, 2019 Welcome Curt and you made a great choice. The Fury 703 is light enough to drop shot and has the power for shakey heads, tubes, and is a gem for fishing wacky rigs and neko rigs. Enjoy it. Quote
ike8120 Posted December 4, 2019 Posted December 4, 2019 I have the same rod and I am using it as dedicated drop shot rod. I am very happy with it. Quote
Curt Bannworth Posted December 4, 2019 Author Posted December 4, 2019 Anyone know how this rod fares for ned rigging ? Quote
Rhody Angler Posted December 4, 2019 Posted December 4, 2019 Dobyns are great... I have one fury cb casting rod, and two Sierra spinning (medium light and medium)... great rods and great customer service. Quote
FishinBuck07 Posted December 4, 2019 Posted December 4, 2019 My whole lineup is Dobyns Fury rods! I love them, and for the money I don't think there is much better, just my opinion though! Quote

Funny the 705cb is the only fury rod I didn’t care for Quote
DanielG Posted December 6, 2019 Posted December 6, 2019 I've got that rod but the spinning one. Good rod. I've also got their glass champion rod. Now that one is super nice. I don't want to use anything else (I've got that is). Quote
