As long as the water is still a liquid you can catch fish. Goodluck. Be safe out there.

Agreed, as long as there's soft water, there's fish to be caught.

Beautiful for sure.  I'd be happy just strolling around in that canoe.  Best of luck and let us know if you get one.

Looks like a Christmas card to me. Use your kayak as a toboggan and slide down into water.

Thanks for sharing, beautiful area.

In Tennessee we call that a blizzard.

That’s only 5”. They say so far we’ve had 24” and it’s only Dec 5

This Sunday will be the last day to go out and it’s not looking good. Temp is suppose to be 45 but south winds 13-17mph. That’s not good considering that lake goes N-S and that’s the northend?

Man, that'd grind Knoxville to a halt for at least three days.

I guess the trade-off for the rest of the country making fun of our inability to drive in the smallest bit of snow is that the water here never freezes, and the bite never truly dies.

Yeah that's fair. I grew up fishing Loudon, and I've caught fish on Loudon this year, but dang, it's a tough bite. I think they see so much pressure all the time that they've got fish PTSD or something.

GL on Norris tomorrow. It's been a long time since I was up there.

it has been obnoxiously tough this year. have gotten on a few good patterns but man they are short lived. Prespawn & memorial day weekend were my best bags this year. I havent been out there in a couple of weeks but last time i went we caught a bunch of massive stripe around the sailboat club and back in prater flats

Yeah, the bite this year sucked on the big water. We didn't even have a fall this year. It feels like it went from summer to winter and, ironically, my hook heated up once the water temps started dropping hard. I've no idea why, but I ain't gonna argue with it.

Fall is all that perfect weather we have had from about oct 14 until.... April..... 60 degrees monday (low of 54).......  I fished in a t shirt until the sun dropped yesterday. Winter is what they have up North

Don't give up!  If the water's not frozen, keep at it.  I live just south of Boston, MA, and in 2017 caught fish in open water in every month.  I'm lucky that Plymouth / Cape Cod ponds don't always freeze over and are an hour away for me.

I have 6" of snow in my yard but plan on getting out at least once or twice before the end of the year.

My weather forecast for the next couple days in a rainy, warming trend ... which'll help out too!

Best of luck and don't quit yet!

Didn’t get out today like I hoped.

Weather was supposed to be 46° and sunny and ended up maybe hitting 40° cloudy and over 15mph winds. Tues is calling for  48° but 70% chance of rain.  But who knows!
