I have one and wouldn't be without it.  But having one depends on the boat and how it is used.

I launch a lot by myself and have to park the fiberglass boat on concrete ramps.  A keel guard is a must for me.  If you beach a boat in campgrounds, etc. it has little use since you are only protecting a small portion of your hull.

Im thinking about getting one you never know when you'll hit something submerged or need to beach when the puddins call and ya gotta break out the TP.  Or if you happen to not see one of them crew boats in the middle of the channel, ya  wouldn't wanna do any damage to the bottom of your boat if you know what im sayen. No but in all seriousness ill eventually get one installed on my boat I think thay are a great idea.

I also am always having to pull up on either concrete ramps or gravle and sandy banks depending where I am at. I also woulnd't have a boat without one. It's nice not having to worry about the hull when you beach it.

Catt that's a pretty interesting idea. It's pretty cool how they can uses that to change the performance of your boat. It all makes sense but I've never seen something like that before.
