519VX Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 How many have a KeelGuard on your boat ? Recommend putting one on or not. Quote
Super User Jig Man Posted October 1, 2008 Super User Posted October 1, 2008 I have one and wouldn't be without it. But having one depends on the boat and how it is used. I launch a lot by myself and have to park the fiberglass boat on concrete ramps. A keel guard is a must for me. If you beach a boat in campgrounds, etc. it has little use since you are only protecting a small portion of your hull. Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted October 1, 2008 Super User Posted October 1, 2008 Nope, but would not be against it. Quote
riverfisher Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 Im thinking about getting one you never know when you'll hit something submerged or need to beach when the puddins call and ya gotta break out the TP. Or if you happen to not see one of them crew boats in the middle of the channel, ya wouldn't wanna do any damage to the bottom of your boat if you know what im sayen. No but in all seriousness ill eventually get one installed on my boat I think thay are a great idea. Quote
285xl Posted October 4, 2008 Posted October 4, 2008 i have on my boat now and my last boat, will NEVER be without one again! Quote
Super User Catt Posted October 4, 2008 Super User Posted October 4, 2008 Protect your entire hull not just the keel with Gorilla Hull exceptionally durable, it carries a lifetime warranty against impact. http://www.toledofiberglass.com/ Quote
bassdocktor Posted October 4, 2008 Posted October 4, 2008 I also am always having to pull up on either concrete ramps or gravle and sandy banks depending where I am at. I also woulnd't have a boat without one. It's nice not having to worry about the hull when you beach it. Catt that's a pretty interesting idea. It's pretty cool how they can uses that to change the performance of your boat. It all makes sense but I've never seen something like that before. Quote
Nick_Barr Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008 I have a Keelshield on my boat, and will never go without one. Beaching on small lakes, especially when by yourself, the Keelshield protects your boat nicely. www.Keelshield.com Quote
