Hello everyone,

I wanted to ask a pretty simple question here.  It's getting cold and I am starting to pick up a chatterbait more and more to use for largemouth bass.  To ensure the bait runs true (with the BPS Kitech swimmers) I tied my line to a barrel swivel which has a hook at the other end to attach to the bait.  Do many of you guys use a similar set up to help support the chatterbait to run straight and not leaning to one side on retrieve?

Thanks,

Wdy

Not sure what a barrel swivel would do to make it run straight?

Tie directly to the snap/line tie is the only way I attach them.

I've tried it only because I already had the snap/swivel tied on. I found it to offer less 'feel' in terms of what the bait was doing and found the chatter vibe was dampened to the touch which I thought to be detrimental in picking up delicate strikes.

Something about putting a swivel in front of a ChatterBait,or any other bladed jig,  seems like a bad idea.

I agree...tie directly to the snap. If a swivel was needed it would come with one attached

A chatterbait already has a snap that you tie to.  The only benefit a swivel would do is stop line twist. A chatterbait does not spin, so I don't see the point of adding another piece of unneeded hardware in front of the bait.

Yep!  I have watched that one a couple of times already.
