BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted November 21, 2019 BassResource.com Administrator Posted November 21, 2019 A man accused of ramming his boat into a pair of college students at Fort Cobb Lake is behind bars. Austin Potts was arrested earlier this month and is being held in an Arkansas jail. According to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, he was arrested for drunk driving. Authorities say he's one of the two men who harassed the college students in August, ramming his boat into theirs. He faces several charges for that, including assault with a dangerous weapon. At this time we don’t know if steps have been taken to extradite Potts. I'm sure there will be more to this story in the coming months. 3 Quote

I read the story yesterday and I'm glad he's sitting behind a cell door. We don't need folks with anger issues on the water. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted November 22, 2019 Super User Posted November 22, 2019 I remember when this initially broke. Good to hear they apprehended this lunatic! Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted November 23, 2019 Global Moderator Posted November 23, 2019 Those fools are lucky they didn't do that to someone with the mindset and equipment to put holes in them/their boat. I'd have had 16 .40 good reasons why that was a bad idea for them. 4 1 Quote

Didn't say I'd shoot them, but you have the right to defend yourself and your property and how do you know all they're going to do is ram into the boat? Maybe they're going to try to jump into the boat to attack you? I'd do what I needed to though. Most people aren't going to try to continue their attack once a gun is pointing at them. 3 Quote

I'm sorry, I thought when you said that "putting holes in them" was an option, that meant killing them. 1 Quote

It would have to escalate quite a bit past what they were doing, but I've seen enough crazy to know how fast things go from bad to worse. Quote
Shimano_1 Posted November 24, 2019 Posted November 24, 2019 I definitely wouldn't want to have to harm someone or their boat but I absolutely would have put a few holes in at least their boat. I guess it seems a little harsh but anyone who would do this to a cple of kids...the world would probably be better off without them anyway. Now the kid has to pay or have his insurance go up because some jucied up jerk decides to plow his rig? Jail isn't nearly enough Quote
Zaleski727 Posted December 9, 2019 Posted December 9, 2019 Great news, it irked me when I heard about this when it happened. I guarantee that coward that rammed their boat wouldn’t have done it if the college kids didn’t look so harmless. Good to see someone being held accountable for their stupid, hurtful actions. Quote
