I would consider contacting Shimano/G Loomis and get your money back from your CC company if it turns out to be fake. Contact them and double check as I've seen demos from G Loomis and that is not what I've encountered in terms of appearance. Hope for the best for you buddy.

Sounds like they got you. Wouldn't do business with them again. Report them to Shimano/G Loomis and get your money back from your CC company. If you ever decide to sell it, no one will buy it because everyone will suspect it to be a fake as well. When in doubt, get out lol.

Doesn't look good. Also demo rods are typically labeled with specs and have labeled demo rod on the blank or the company in which they are demos for. Maybe they sent you the wrong rod. Hopefully that is what has happened.

I've bought a couple fake Loomis NRX rods from Stephen before. They fish ok...... :) Kidding aside I think you probably received a demo without the specs noted. Hookup tackle probably should have noted that but highly doubt its fake. Shoot them an email. They will take care of you.

I have a demo Avid, built around 2000.  It doesn't have all the normal labels, handwritten specs, and can assure you it's legit because St. Croix verified it when they repaired the reel seat.  It's not out of the realm of possibility that it's legit.  That place has a good reputation, and would not likely sully that by selling fakes.

It's fine. There's some older NRX out there that don't have the specs listed on them. It's not very common anymore but there were a few years ago. It's probably been on their showroom for a long time. Your rod isn't a loomis "demo" rod. It's a rod they used in their store for tank tests. Same thing as a rep sample. The hook up tackle are super awesome guys. zero percent chance they sold you a "fake" NRX. If you want one /w the markings on it, just call them and exchange it.

I agree that I don't think its fake.  I can remember going to a tackle show that had a Loomis dealer and there they had both the green and blue NRX rods with no ID of any kind.  They were marked in the rod rack.  They were just for show but they were the real deal.

I didn't know fake rods were a thing?

I'm a collector of knives and used to collect shoes (both were and are faked)

Yeah, as has been said no chance that is a fake. They're one of the most respected tackle shops around and specialize in top end gear... not trying to pull a fast one on anybody. Black Friday price will only be $40 more than you paid for your demo rod, so it may be worth sending it back and just getting a brand new one.

There is a NEW version of the NRX that came out recently, they updated the resin/glue on the guides (due to Pure Fishing buying the 3M product they used to use). They also dumped the fish logo from the blank.

Top is the old, bottom is the new look.

I just received my demo NRX893 from the hook up tackle and it looks like the bottom picture with description label.

Thought the resin swap was back in 2013-2014:dontknow:

They did it again. Word I got was the 3M product they were using was purchased outright by Pure Fishing. So they had to find a new supplier.

I have a GLX 854c ive been very impressed with. I have just purchased a 853c and 822s syr both NRX.

That's the best thing about G Loomis rods!
