ike8120 Posted November 10, 2019 Posted November 10, 2019 I am looking for some recommendations for drop shot baits. I have narrowed it down to Strike King Dream Shot and Roboworm Str Tail.(open to other suggestions) I know there are many other companies that make these. My fishing is done from the bank in both clear and slightly stained waters. I was looking for the size and colors that are preferred. Putting together my holiday wish list. Quote
Way north bass guy Posted November 10, 2019 Posted November 10, 2019 This year the Berkley Maxscent Flatworm in several colours were absolutely lights out for me. I was mostly fishing for smallmouth, but they’d work just as well for largemouth I’m sure, as I use other Maxscent baits and do very well for largemouth with them. The flatworm is fairly soft and has a lot of action, but it’s tough enough that I was able to catch quite a few smallies on one bait before it got tore up too badly. The Maxscent baits are like crack for smallies, they hammer them and do not let go. 2 Quote
rtwvumtneer6 Posted November 10, 2019 Posted November 10, 2019 Good old zoom finesse worm is always good and they will have any color you could ever need. I also have a lot of success with the V&M Drop Shad in Green Pumpkin Watermelon. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/catpage-VMFISHING.html?from=basres 2 Quote

Super User Columbia Craw Posted November 11, 2019 Super User Posted November 11, 2019 Missile Baits Bomb Shot. Strike King Half Shell and the Robo Worm FX Sculpin. Quote
BassinCNY Posted November 11, 2019 Posted November 11, 2019 I don't fish either of those two baits but I do fish 4" flukes which are similar to the dreamshot. My favorite colors are, in order of effectiveness, green pumpkin, white and minnow (dark back light belly). I am much more likely to drop shot a finesse worm or a trick worm, which is more like the roboworm. My favorite colors in order are black, green pumpkin purple and red bug. I rig them weedless on light wire offset worm hooks. 2/0 for the finesse worms and 3/0 for the trick worms. 1 Quote
RyneB Posted November 12, 2019 Posted November 12, 2019 It's on the smaller side. But a Yamamoto Shad Shape worm outfishes every single bait I own. It has accounted for my 3 biggest smallies. It doesn't exactly attract the biggest largies. But if you're looking for a bait that just gets bites. Its tough to beat. 1 Quote

Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted November 12, 2019 Global Moderator Posted November 12, 2019 The dream shot is nice. Nothing has been as good for me as a plain old green pumpkin Zoom shakyhead worm though. 1 Quote
