Super User fishballer06 Posted November 7, 2019 Super User Posted November 7, 2019 In all seriousness, I don't throw any swimbaits over ~3oz, so I really can't help. @SPEEDBEAD. might be able to help. Quote

Super User jbsoonerfan Posted November 7, 2019 Super User Posted November 7, 2019 Dang, just 4 more oz and you could weigh it in on MLF. 7 Quote
Super User fishballer06 Posted November 7, 2019 Super User Posted November 7, 2019 My suggestion is look into some Musky rods. They might be rated heavy enough to throw a bait like that. 1 Quote

JediAmoeba Posted November 8, 2019 Posted November 8, 2019 Muskie Rod. This size lure is thrown by Muskie aficionados all day long. I have a bunch of 8+ oz lures I throw at skies and I wouldn't think of using any other kind of rod. St Croix makes some great ones and I have 2 cabelas rods I love. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted November 8, 2019 Global Moderator Posted November 8, 2019 Most guys are tossing baits that sized on customs it seems. Muskie rods and swimbait rods aren't the same despite being built to handle similar sized baits. While they can work, I doubt you're looking into a budget rod when you're dropping the coin on that bait. Quote
Smalls Posted November 8, 2019 Posted November 8, 2019 Oliver Ngy has a video of him unboxing/ throwing the CNB, I’m pretty sure he mentions the rod he’s throwing it on. Quote
fvogel67 Posted November 8, 2019 Posted November 8, 2019 St Croix has some Mojo Muskie rods in the Rod Shopper clearance Quote
Super User rippin-lips Posted November 8, 2019 Super User Posted November 8, 2019 Brad from F5 can take care of you. Quote

Hell, I won't huck over 4oz on my DXSB H. Quote

I still feel my stick is rated higher than it is capable of and most every review says so as well. Quote
Super User WRB Posted November 10, 2019 Super User Posted November 10, 2019 I would buy the DC908 SB and order the custom rod and evaluate both, easy to sell Dobyns rod, the F5 and LDC are back ordered about 3 to 6 months. Tom Quote

Super User new2BC4bass Posted December 21, 2019 Super User Posted December 21, 2019 Never heard of Low Down Custom Rods before. After a quick search I'd have to say you got a nice rod. Be sure to post back your opinions on it. Personally I don't fish those type of lures and have no desire to do so, but nonetheless I enjoy reading about techniques I don't use. Never know, but even an old dog like me has been known to change his mind on occasion. Quote
