But all the days when your home isn't floating downstream makes it worth it. My son just bought a house on a lake. I'm jealous.

This one may be for rent in the near future! Haha. One of my coworkers is renting it right now

Man this brings back memories of several years ago (like 20) when a very expensive home was at risk of going i go the lake due to bank erosion. I ended up having ro put a 35k retaining wall in for the homeowner to keep the house from sliding off it’s foundation. The AC unit was only being held in place by the wiring. It was hanging away feom the house.

There have been several homes in the past year that have gone into Lake Michigan due to erosion. It’s pretty wild, homes that have been there and handed down for generations now gone.

That’s wild! You come 2-2.5 hours south to me and it was 35* warmer!

Ya, I had to pop out for an errand. Tossed on the fall jacket (fleece lined corduroy). While in the truck thought, 'darn, it's cold'. Glanced at the rear-view - outside temp displays in the upper-right corner - and it was -5. Should have put on the winter jacket.

Around here that doesn't even qualify as 'snow' - more like light dandruff.

No they just take the things that perish the quickest like bread and milk, you’d think they would buy soup

Here we are the eighth of February and the ice is thick enough to get out on. At 3-4” it’s not as thick as I’d like but it’s getting thicker by the day. Either way 6poundbass was happy to get out. We didn’t get anything, we didn’t stay out too long. I’m sure we’ll try again tomorrow. My idea of ice fishing is setting tip ups and looking out the window waiting for a flag.

On Thursday we had torrential rain and flooding, wind guts up to 45 mph, and what appears to be tornado damage in some areas.

On Saturday it was freezing out and it snowed for 4 hours, but with the wet and warmer ground there was only half an inch of accumulation before most of it melted.

Sounds like the same weather we had on the east side of the mountains

It's all a trade off. I've lived where it's sunny and warm year around and also to where we have 4 seasons. I don't mind 3-4 months of cold weather as it allows me to get stuff done in my shop. I also love the fall and spring weather. Not to mention I couldn't even begin to think what it would be like hunting in warm temps. But it's been cold here since December and I'm about over it.. hunting season is over for the most part other than hunting dogs, so now I'm ready for some spring fishing, cookouts, and camping. Hopefully one more month and it's good weather here.

We got about 5” yesterday afternoon, which caused the first snow day of the school year. Driving around today for work I’m not quite sure why they canceled school today, the roads aren’t bad at all. I think they might have jumped the gun last night, I saw they were closing around 9 o’clock last night. We’re supposed to get more snow later this week.

I got a little my way, not much

And yesterday when it was sunny and 50, my neighbor was out mowing his grass

Funny to me seeing a guy pushing 80 riding around in a Badboy mower #futuregoals

Just got in from cleaning it up.

We got about 6-8 yesterday & last night.

Sun's out now, so it's nice.

You have to be 80 to afford one of those lawn mowers!
