Surrounded by big water on 3 sides and then being sort of in 'the middle' - seems to be where the snow & cold drop. Keeps us a little cooler in the summer but keep watching and you'll see what happens in the winter. btw - we are WAY behind on snow fall . . . . . . . . so far. A-Jay 1 Quote

All you need to survive a snow storm is whiskey and beer. That’s what us northerners use to get by.....that probably explains the baby boom up here every Sept. ,October, and November. ? 1 3 Quote

Black Hawk Basser Posted December 19, 2019 Posted December 19, 2019 Guys on the bass forum wishing for warm weather, guys on the ice forum wishing for cold weather. I'm in the ice camp at this point, there's no open water whatsoever probably until late March. Quote
Global Moderator 12poundbass Posted December 26, 2019 Author Global Moderator Posted December 26, 2019 The sun is shining, it’s 48*, there’s no snow on the ground, what could I possibly complain about? There’s still ice on the lakes! It’s pure torture! If we canN’t fish I think I’d prefer the norm, cold, snow, and no sun. 1 Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted December 26, 2019 Super User Posted December 26, 2019 Still some snow left but not much. 34 and raining - quite a mess. Additionally we are WAY low on average snow fall. Hope it doesn't negatively effect lake levels in the spring. Which btw, is what it feel like this morning. 111 days to go and this weather makes it feel like it's much closer than it is . . . A-Jay There’s no doubt in my mind we’ll pay for this weather in the coming weeks or months. It kind of reminds me of one of the final scenes in the movie The Perfect Storm (the movie about the Gloucester boat Andrea Gale). They battle the storm then the seas calm, the sun peaks out, the deckhand thinks they’ve made it but the captain knows they’re not so lucky. 1 Quote

Super User gim Posted December 26, 2019 Super User Posted December 26, 2019 It hasn't even dropped below freezing here over night here in the Twin Cities the past several nights. I often get up during the middle of the night at some point to let the dog out and I can see/hear it still dripping off my roof. Additionally, all the snow I received in late November/early December is showing serious signs of disappearing. There are several spots on my front lawn that are completely exposed grass again. Quote
