I just think back to '91 when we got 30" of snow over the Halloween weekend. Compared to that, a white Thanksgiving isn't that bad.

It is not bad if you are used to that type of weather. I would imagine a Southerner would have a hard time adjusting to that type of Winter weather just like northerners tend to have a hard time adjusting to +90 degree heat and +85% humidity which is common Summer weather in South Florida.

Which is why I told my Mother-in-law right after I married that I would NOT be visiting between May and October - she lived in Boca at the time.

Yes the heat can be brutal that time of year but the fishing is very good for many species of fish. Best to fish early or late in the day and make sure to stay hydrated.

Hey whoa now........ when you actually remember things like that, the weatherman hype can’t convince everyone it’s the worst thing ever every single year!!!!! We had 2 feet of snow in East TN in late March 1993 and crazy flooding in 1994. Yet, everyone soon forgets and every year we have a 500 year flood..... haha

I particularly remember that one because I had to get into work all three days of that weekend, 22 miles each way, roads closed all over the place, even snowplows in the ditch, and I was driving a RWD Sedan.

We are glad you can still tell that story! I couldn’t drive that heavy boat in the rain on the curvy hills around here!

Well, I DID take my Behind-the-wheel training in Northern MN during the winter - so I learned to drive in...crap...like that.

It’s pretty pathetic that I’m 45 minutes to an hour away from Lake Michigan and I’ve never gone there during a big storm or wind event like yesterday to witness the huge waves in action.

Looking is one thing -

Riding it out for a day, or a week or a month at a time, is another.

Talk about a full body workout . . .

Like I said, I don't miss it.

Yep, not looking good for us. Up to .3 inches of ice and 1-3 inches of snow over night. Hopefully the wind dies down before the freezing rain starts or there could be significant power outages.

We need snow ~

Hoping for a foot or more and that it keeps building through the winter.

Perhaps more importantly - it needs to last straight through March.

Then, ALL MELT COMPLETELY AWAY on 01 April 2020 . . .

Meanwhile in Knoxville they are delaying the football game. Because it’s raining. Dumbest thing I’ve ever seen in my life. Who are they protecting when there are 90,000 fans sitting on metal bleachers?

Except all @A-Jay's stuff goes to the Great Lakes and out the St. Lawrence. It's us in MN that sends you all that excess water down the Mississippi. :happy-127:

31 and raining, Ugggg this isn’t going to be good! Thankfully for us the ground isn’t frozen yet or we’d be in trouble, wait I think we still are! Pretty sure the trees will glisten in the morning.

That’s the worst conditions we get where I live, much rather have it snow than very cold rain. We’ve only had one real blizzard in my life (if 2 feet counts as one) and I’m sure there’s worse things up north but drenched and 31 degrees is a bad place to be
