My control board is bad and the replacement board is discontinued. Can I swap my v1 board with v2 board? If so, I know the plus is round, while my plug rectangular; could I just splice on a new plug or would I need to replace the foot pedal as well? My foot pedal is the older style as well that has the rectangular plug. I don’t plan on using auto pilot, I pilot, or co pilot. I just plan to manually steer the TM. My goal is to fix my trolling motor at the lowest expense. Thank you in advance for anyone that can take the time to help me out, I really would appreciate it.

Those power drive pedals are notorious for failing.  The contact points wear out.  My old man has gone through at least 5 of them since 2001.

This isn't going to answer your question directly but I also had this problem last year.  My PD V1 pedal burned up on me and I also looked for simple issues like you. I could not find an adapter, no aftermarket pedals, no part support for the V1. Any used options came with either the whole motor for alot of money or looked like something used beyond belief.

Ultimately I just bought a V2. The cheapest fix you asked about will be to browse used trolling motors and buy the best/functional one you can afford.  You might get lucky and find someone with one floating around in their garage.  Even if you did the pedal is so unreliable it will be on borrowed time too.

Same issue. PD V1 control board is #230-4041 that is discontinued

However, you can install. PD V2 control board with very basic knowledge

Now the caveat.

The V2 uses a different connector.

If youre uncomfortable doing it yourself, take your old control board with the flat plug and the new control board to an electronic shop and have them "splice" your old plug inline between control board and new plug and your set

Imworking on the same solution this winter

Good luck!!

Has anyone spliced a v2 plug onto a v1? Im wondering about the same thing because i want a copilot and cant find a v1. I know all the specs for the v1 but cant find the resistance of the speed control for v2. i contacted minn kota and they wouldnt give me a straight answer. Just said they dont recommend trying. why would they tho if they can make me buy a whole new setup.
