Hewhospeaksmuchbull Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 Am I the only one who plays with their new rods, reels and baits? I'm talking about at home, I'll break em out of the package just to see what the action may be like. I wiggle and shake them, imagining a humongous bass B-lining from the depths to eat my new secret weapons! Will any admit that they also turn into a little boy again when the Tackle Warehouse order arrives? P.S. I just gave my new swimbait a good shake and jiggle, no doubt about it's gonna bring the big girls out to play! 3 Quote

rtwvumtneer6 Posted October 19, 2019 Posted October 19, 2019 Sometimes, in the winter, I'll put my reels on different rods... Just to see what they look like. 1 2 Quote

Except for the power, all three of my BC rods are the same model. I will admit to changing them around in thought to decide which speed with which power...but always go back to the original setup. 1 Quote
Wizzlebiz Posted October 19, 2019 Posted October 19, 2019 I sit and play with a curly tail grub running through my fingers most nights. Wife at 1st thought it was odd now its just part of our norm. 2 Quote

I'm still trying to find a rod line that I can stick with. I have black ones, green ones, silver ones. Eva handles, cork, winn grips. White reels, black reels, silver reels. Clear line, green line, yellow line. The possibilities are many lol. Quote

Ah, yes. I work 2nd shift and cross my fingers that UPS will arrive before I have to leave, so she doesn't come home from her 9-5 to another rod tube on the porch... 2 1 Quote

r83srock Posted October 19, 2019 Posted October 19, 2019 You are normal to us 1%ers of the world. I love Messing with tackle. My lady is really cool about my fishing. I try to be reasonable but either way she has never told me no. 1 Quote

Super User N Florida Mike Posted October 19, 2019 Super User Posted October 19, 2019 I like to occasionally sniff a new pack of worms but I don’t play with them ( much )? 3 Quote

Super User Mobasser Posted October 19, 2019 Super User Posted October 19, 2019 Cold winter nights at our house. TV gets boring for me pretty quickly anymore. My wife likes to watch a few shows that I'd never watch. So, I'm usually either reading something about fishing, or messing with my tackle. I organize, clean reels, spool new line, sharpen hooks etc. Usually I'm more than ready when it comes time to fish again. 3 Quote
deadadrift89 Posted October 19, 2019 Posted October 19, 2019 I've got some time flipping, pitching and casting off our deck at the house 4 Quote
schplurg Posted October 20, 2019 Posted October 20, 2019 I don't. Closest I get is opening the Plano with all the crank baits and looking at the pretty colors. I plan on fishing all winter too so I doubt I'll get cabin fever enough to do that. Quote
