Bravesfan Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 Could you put wood across the seats to make a deck. I know you could but is it reccomended to have bracing underneath the deck. Any help suggestions or comments would be appreciated. Quote
Delmonte Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 I'm a newbie, but I just finished my first mod on my 12' v hull 2 weeks ago. I guess you can do what you want, I think it might be a little "tippy" I mostly use my trolling motors on the calm lakes that I fish, but I was concerned with running my 6hp motor sitting high on pedestals, at least I can take my seat pedestal posts out and sit on the bench with the seats in and have plenty of room for my legs. If you just plan on running a trolling motor, then put a deck all the way across and you should be fine, but if you're gonna use any gas powered motor and sit with pedestals be careful! Included is a photo of my first time out with her last week, what a great day of fishing! But if you notice, I can put the seats down low and add the pedestals poles once I get on the lake. Good luck! Just my two cents! D. 8-) Quote

Delmonte Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 Thanks bro, took me a couple of months in my spare time to fix her up, but I'm really gonna enjoy fishing in this Northeastern Ohio gorgeous fall weather for the next 6-8 weeks (my fiance is already complaining I'm fishing too much!) Now I just gotta figure out how to use this new Hummingbird fishfinder I bought, just mounted the tranducer on the bottom of the transom and sealed the screws with silicone tonight, can't wait to use it! I'll let ya know how it works! D. 8-) Quote
