Is there a nice rod rack that you guys recommend?  We have storage cabinets along the walls so there isn't really room to do any drilling.  I guess I probably need to opt for some sort of free standing apparatus.  I started the year with one rod, but now have 5 and they just lay against the wall for now.  I want something to protect them and keep them out of the way.

Thanks

I've been looking on Amazon for one of these two. There are some nice free standing ones and some that attach to the wall. There are some interesting but simple ones that look like black plastic with slots in them to squeeze the rod into. Still don't know. I might end up making one. I do a lot of woodworking.

I got the aluminum Kast King free standing one and it’s about as perfect as can be- without spending a ton of $.

I second the vote for the Kastking Rack. It's a quality no tools needed to assemble rack. Mine is filled so I will need a second one for my 2 piece and saltwater rods.

If you wanna spend money go with Kastking rack, otherwise built your own from PVC pipe.

KK rod rack, 24 rods version but can only fit about 7 rod with reel attached on each side.

Recently purchased a rack from Savior Equipment. Really like it.I can get about 24 rod/reel combos or 48 rods.

Lightweight, sharp looking. I'm thinking about adding some casters so I can roll it around the shop.

The design of the savior is really nice.  Rods go in and out easily, don't have to be carefully fit into a little slot, the just are naturally lightly loaded against the cross member about 2 feet up the rack.  This design is a piece of cake to make and if done with the right wood, it can be very attractive.  The secret is the slanted floor with the crossbar right at the grip.

Best advice I can give is if you live out in the country, don't store your rods anywhere that critters can get to them and chew on the handles.

It will break your heart.

The 48 version of savior look good and just a little more than KK 24 version. Savior should have enough room for at least 10 combo on one side. Remember when you setup your rod rack along the wall, you would use mostly only one side facing out, so get as wide as you can fit. You don’t have enough combo now? Don’t worry they will come sooner or later, by the time you know it, you would need more rack.

I have one but I can't put any of my longer rods in it because then they hit the ceiling haha.

I have a couple of 24" Piranha Rod Racks that mount to the wall , I can easily stand 8' rods inside the house. $25 a piece.

I picked up one similar to this at BPS 16 years ago and the clips on mine are a real heavy vinyl and still strong.  I can easily store 12 rods with reels mounted in their rod and reel covers.  The circular configuration takes up little room. I built a double sided rack my self to hold 12 more rods, but is half empty.
