JWall14 Posted October 17, 2019 Posted October 17, 2019 (edited) How do you guys store your hooks and weights? In a box? The original package? Anyone. Have either the Plano edge or bass mafia terminal tackle storage boxes? I’m not sure how they work as they seem to have a lot of small parts. Edited October 17, 2019 by JWall14 Quote
Dens228 Posted October 17, 2019 Posted October 17, 2019 In a smaller watertight Plano box. Not sure of the exact size. I also line the inside of the lid with athletic tape to keep hooks, snaps, etc from migrating into other sections. 2 Quote
Tizi Posted October 17, 2019 Posted October 17, 2019 I use a Berkley Max Capacity Bait Notebook with smaller plastic bags for individual items (the smaller bags go inside the binder bags). https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00C7HMQ9C/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 This works well for me. It fits nicely in the front pocket of my Cabelas Advanced Angler bag. 1 Quote
JediAmoeba Posted October 17, 2019 Posted October 17, 2019 I used to to empty the individual bags into plano boxes but lost too many to rust. Now I leave all the hooks in their original packaging and put them in large divided plano boxes. Depending on what type of fishing I am doing I throw a few packs into small 3700 boxes I am taking with me. Quote
r3825 Posted October 17, 2019 Posted October 17, 2019 I have 2 of the bass mafia terminal coffins, I love them. Bass Mafia will send you more dividers for free 1 Quote
camman Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 Also use bass mafia coffin box and works great. Holds all my stuff in the right compartments. 1 Quote
AlexCastaway Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 Cal Coast Battlebox for me. Went to this from the Bass mafia box and like it a lot. 1 Quote
Super User FishTank Posted October 18, 2019 Super User Posted October 18, 2019 I have a smaller 2 sided plano box with hooks and leaders on one side and weights on the other> keeping it simple. Quote
Super User fishwizzard Posted October 18, 2019 Super User Posted October 18, 2019 I pack my plastics into Plano 3600 boxed "kits" based around a specific presentation or combo. The hooks/weights go into a compartment in each kit with a rust tab or two. I replace the tabs every two years and am careful about not putting wet stuff back into the kits and have never had an issue with rust. Quote
Cam R Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 Hello, I usually keep my hooks in the packages they come in to avoid the rust issue, not always though. and for weights I have a small plano box that I organize them by. Ex: one section is for bullet weights another section is for dropshot weights etc. i can DM you pictures of how I organize my tackle too! good luck! 1 Quote
Super User MN Fisher Posted October 19, 2019 Super User Posted October 19, 2019 Hooks and weights out of the original packaging and into 2"x2" zip-top bags with part of the label from the original package. These get sorted into a Plano 3620, each compartment with a different type item - all my EWG hooks in one, Straight-shank worm hooks in another, bullet weights, egg weights, casting weights. Lets me pack quite a selection into one box. One compartment is left free for 'damp' items, and another compartment has a few silca-gel packs in it for rust-prevention. Packs get replaced as needed - 100 packs cost under $9 from Amazon. 1 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted October 19, 2019 Global Moderator Posted October 19, 2019 Most of my hooks are in the original packages and bullet weights are in BM weight coffins. I've got the Plano Edge terminal box that I'm going to set up this weekend though and have high hopes for it. Quote

Let me know what you think I will probably get one to put in a tackle warehouse backpack (the best backpack for the money IMO). I use a lot of ned rig and guppy heads and let me know if you think they will fit. Thanks! Quote
