Fished some new Z-Man Fatty Z's the other day for the first time.  Love the action and the effectiveness of the worm.  Aside from TRD's, I don't have a lot of elaztech experience.

I'd like to fish them on a shaky head, but of the probably two dozen different kinds that I have, very few have a keeper that will hold elaztech.

I want a shakey head that is:

-1/16 through about 1/2

-stands at attention on most surfaces when elaztech bait attached

-wide enough gap for a fatty z (relatively wide worm)

-will reliably hold a elaztech without it quickly deforming or sliding down

-best hooks; thinish gage and surgically sharp

-'snagless' -- relatively, anyway -- I don't expect it to come through thick hydrilla like a weightless trick worm, but it cannot have an exposed hook where I'm going to be throwing it

What have you used that works?  Doesn't work?

At one time I used 3/8 Megastrike jig head without skirt. This jig have hook at 45 degree angle when lay flat on bottom. I also use 1/8 chomper stand up jig head. The FattyZ is really buoyancy you don’t need shakey head to make it stand up. I used it with plain Texas rig and caught a catfish with it. Another rig that I believe should work is Jika Rig with a lot of shake and drag.

I also have success with Owner ultrahead ball head with ZinkerZ so it should work with FattyZ as well.

These work pretty well until the worm gets really soft, then you have to adjust it a lot.

I really like zman's plastics but fishing with limited storage makes them too much of a pain to bother with most of the time.
