So ive had this curado K for two years now with no problems, finally something arose.. a loud shuffling noise coming from the reel. So I took out the spool to check if the sound was inside the reel and it isn't. I checked around the spool and I managed to somehow create a near microscopic nick where the ring around the spool connects to the reels frame. and when i turn the handle that seems to be the point of contact that creates the shuffling sound. so where can I buy a replacement spool ,or is there any better ideas of where this sound could be coming from?

Or take some fine sand paper and lightly sand it down. Then clean it well and see if it still makes the same noise.

Yep, and if it still makes a noise then it's probably the spool bearings that either need oil or replacing.

Also does it only make the noise when you cast or during the retreive too?

I had to oil the brake race on one of my conquest recently because it was making a horrible noise when I was casting. After I oil it lightly, all was fine again.

it only makes the noise on the retrieve as far as i can hear, i think it is the spool bearing because the noise isnt a scratchy noise like one that a small burr on the spool would create.

If it's only on the retrieve it's more likely the gears that need some grease. Dry spool bearings usually make a real racket when you cast. If you're not good at taking things apart and putting them back together (more important!) then probably best to let somebody else do it.

Might be the gears. Could be that the main gear or drag stack is not seated flush on the reel shaft. Or maybe the pinion or yoke springs misaligned? But that’s just a guess. If it’s not under warranty have someone that knows how open it up to see. It sounds extremely fixable.

Giving the reel a good breakdown and cleaning could also help. My Chronarch MGL developed a noise this weekend whenever I was bank fishing immediately after I had caught a fish and laid the rod down on the sandy/dirt bank. I took my side plate off, and my spool out, and I blew all over everything. Once I put it together, problem solved.

This may not work in every case, but a deeper, more thorough cleaning might help the issue as well.
