So like any bass fisherman I have WAY to many lures to take with me on every bank fishing trip, so I keep a small tackle box in my car for those impromptu sessions. I try and keep that tackle box small and compact, easy to carry around. I have all of my lures and plastics sorted out and everything is pretty much filled up. My problem is that I can’t fit my spinners and buzbaits into the plastic containers without bending down the wires. So I was just going to hook em to the back of the box somehow but I don’t want to just embed them into the fabric because I know for sure that the barb will make it near impossible to get them back out without cutting the fabric of the box.

so I’m looking for some suggestions or clever tricks on how to make a hook/lure holder for the outside of my tackle box. Got any ideas??

They do make tackle boxes for spinnerbaits and the like, so they don't get all bent up...;)

I have a spinnerbait box that's maybe 6 inches by 8 inches. When i used to fish from the bank I took an eye bolt from lowes, drilled a hole in the bottom of the box and ran the eye bolt through the hole with washers on both sides and secured it with a nut on the inside. Then secured it to my small tackle bag with a small caribiner also from Lowe's.

I store buzzbaits and spinnerbaits in small plastic worm bags from here (or from the same company but on amazon):

Then they fit just about anywhere.

One alternative I learned about on here that I've used too - cut a slit between two compartments in a plano, and so the body of the spinnerbait is on one side, and the blades on the other.

I use a cd wallet. Compact and easy to access all my spinnerbaits. If you don't have any lying around, you can get them at Walmart for cheap.

That’s what I use. Small picture album works also.

As a back seat I take a tackle binder with SB for the day. Attached to my bag with a carabiner or stowed in a locker on the boat. I do this for soft plastics too.

To store SB at home I use the same type of binder and hang it on a pegboard.

I removed all the dividers  out of a plano , then put    two or three spinnerbaits/buzzbaits  in plastic bags   {actually they are tag covers for fire extinguishers} and tossed them inside . It takes a minute to find the one I want  .

Plano makes 3707 specific box for spinnerbaits now.  I went through similar headaches for years but love these new boxes.  Won't be going elsewhere anytime soon.

I got my spinners/chatters/buzzbaits in a 3650. The large side divided in half with the buzz in one compartment and the spinners in the second. The smaller compartment areas have my chatters and my in-line spinners.

Take a standard Plano 3600 or 3700 style box, doesn't matter which.  Cut slits down every other divider about 6 inches apart.  Put the eye of your spinnerbait in the slot so that the spinners are in one row, and the hook is in the other.  You can fit a ton of them in a 3700 size.  Also works for buzzbaits.

Do you think an ITunes app will  work?....

That solely depends on your iCloud storage.....

Can you post a picture of it? Sounds interesting!

I bought a spinnerbait box from BPS, it was a Plano, but I returned it. It just didn’t work as advertised.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys! I’d never heard of a worm binder before, but you better believe I’m on the hunt for one now. Those look like they’re really handy.

As for my issue, I ended up just super glueing some elastic onto the in side of my box. Then I just tuck the hooks and bodies behind the elastic and let the blades hang over the other side. It’s not the most conventional way of doing things but it holds em the way I need it to.

Thanks again!

The 3707 spinner bait box is the way to go.  It keeps the spinnerbaits well organized.  No alterations are needed.
