Super User Raul Posted October 2, 2019 Super User Posted October 2, 2019 When you purchase a Chronarch you have taken not a good but an excellent decision. Quote

The Bassman Posted October 2, 2019 Posted October 2, 2019 I have both and they're both very smooth. I do like the way the Bantam palms better. For me casting is about the same. Some say that the Bantam comes up a little shorter because of the close line guide orientation. I don't notice any difference. 1 Quote
scbassin Posted October 2, 2019 Posted October 2, 2019 I have 3 Chronarch CH 101 D7's super tuned that are buttery smooth & A Japanese Version of the Bantam MGL & I don't notice a difference between them. I think you did just fine with your choice of a reel. Quote
Matt_3479 Posted October 2, 2019 Posted October 2, 2019 I have 3 chronarch mgl’s and a bantam mgl. Love all 4 of these reels. The bantam is an amazing reel but the chronarch continues to impress me every time I use it. Have 1 on a glx 852c throwing lighter tubes, shakey heads, senko’s, Neko rigs and small poppers and it bombs them a mile! I have another on a glx 894c shipping’s jigs, pitching jigs and whopper plopper sometimes be into heavy cover with 50lbs line and have horsed out some real beauties in some thick cover. And had one on an 884 Twfr tossing 1/2oz -5/8oz frogs and 110 whopper ploppers just hammering bass in the thickest mats I fish and not once has these reels skipped a beat!!! The bantam now sits on the frog rod just because “it’s more designed for that purpose” and the chronarch moved too the nrx 853c 1 Quote
OnthePotomac Posted October 7, 2019 Posted October 7, 2019 Reeeeealy smooth and nice and fast. A reel ? pleasure with which to fish. Quote
GReb Posted October 7, 2019 Posted October 7, 2019 Noticed yesterday you could buy a Chronarch MGL at Digitaka for $235 1 Quote
puddlepuncher Posted October 7, 2019 Posted October 7, 2019 It's a great reel. I have a few and Met's, Curado K's and DC's. The Chronarch is probably my overall favorite. Shapewise, performance especially with light baits. Winter is coming and the material does not transfer cold to the hands like a metal reel does. You will love that reel. Quote
Super User fishballer06 Posted October 8, 2019 Super User Posted October 8, 2019 Is the Chronarch MGL any good? The 4 that I keep in my rotation say yes. Quote

Looks like I have to decide on the HG or the XG now, and don't say "one of each" as I'm already wrestling with that option. Quote

A Bantam MGL and the SLX MGL was ordered yesterday from Digitaka. These made in Japan reels are outstanding in every way. Go Shimano! Quote
