Are there any 6'6" Heavy rods?

I'm not talking about a MH that fishes as a H (like a St. Croix for example, according to who you talk to) or a H that fishes as a MH (Like Dobyns for example, according to who you talk to). Are there any 6'6" rods that are listed as a H and fish as a H?

 

If someone can help me find one that would be amazing.

What does “fish like a heavy” mean? This is where the subjectivity of labels and opinions comes in. Can you elaborate on the application? This might get you more meaningful feedback.

Something similar to a Dobyns Mag Heavy. I like 6'6" rods and want to find a rod like this to lay the wood with jigs.

Right now I'm stuck with 7' Heavy and try as I might I hate fishing them. The length is too awkward. I'm dead set on 6'6" if such a rod exists.

You either have to look for a used rod, or go with a 6'10" H rod while they still exist(Shimano/Daiwa/Falcon).

My partner and I had some 6’6” Falcon Lowriders that fit that description.  However, over time we both sold them opting for longer rods.

G Loomis 6'6" 784c. It's a pretty stout rod and comes in a couple of series. A used IMX  can usually be found for around $175

I owned a pre-shimano version of this rod 20yrs ago.  Really regret selling it.

I bought a few 6'6" rods when I first got back into fishing (and went to baitcast gear).  Soon found out I preferred longer.  Two are 6'6" MH Cabela's XMLTi from different year models.  The newer one has a typical MH rating.  The older is rated for something like 3/8-2 or 3/8-2 1/4 oz.  Would have to double check.  You can see the older model has a thicker tip.  Also has a funky reel seat. 

 

Anyway it might have been used twice at the most.  Its lure rating is more than my Heavy rods.  I believe these were $200 rods.  You might be able to talk me into selling it.  Would be a first.    Never sold a rod yet, and only one reel which was basically a giveaway to a young college kid looking to get into baitcast reels.

I have a few 7 foot MH rods that I have broken the first few inches off of.

Once I replaced the tip, they fish like a broom stick.

I DID research and couldn't find anything.

 

If only people would read the OP they would see that I excluded a Dobyns Heavy because they're actually Medium Heavy.

 

(That Fury is the only one like it they offer. I owned it and sold it off because it wasn't what I wanted.)

Is 6'9'' close enough? Daiwa has one that Ive been using this year and ive been enjoying it for a variety of applications like jig and frog fishing.

There used to be a lot of Muskie rods like that but the days of short rods are long gone.  What use do you have for a Heavy rod that short?  It's basically a pole cue.

Laying the wood with jigs. Frogs too.

 

I may just have to train myself to get comfortable with 7 footers the way I had to train myself to be comfortable with right hand retrieve reels when I first started when that's all that was in stores around here. I've since moved to left hand retrieve years ago and that's infinitely more comfortable but as far as short rods go it seems I'm about to be out of luck.

I have a Shimano Clarus 6'6" H XF, pool cue capable of pulling fish out of mesquite trees, it's my heavy spinnerbait ( 3/4 - 1oz )/swim-bladed jig rod. Just I was about going to get another one it was discontinued ..... what a friggin bummer !

My dad has a St. Croix Premier 6’6” H, rated to 1.5oz lures. I have the 6’10” version that they no longer make, and I retired mine. Might give that a check.

There are a ton of jdm rods that are short and cover the entire "Heavy" spectrum.  Most of them are slower in action however.  I have been looking for a 6'ish frog rod for a while now but have yet to find one that looks right enough to take the chance on.  

 

How much are you looking to spend?

Just looked, St. Croix no longer offers the 6’6” H premier. What are lure weights, I looked and didn’t see, maybe I missed it? It looks like loomis or custom is the way to go, which isn’t bad at all. I used to fish a Kistler 6’8” H rated to 1.5oz. Rod rocked for jigs , but it too is retired, the eyes are nearly falling off. Maybe Kistler will build you something? 

Castaway has a rod called their heavy worm. It’s a 6’6” Heavy. I remember Waterloo out of Texas had both a 6’10” and 7’3” “scrape” rod, not sure if Waterloo still builds rods or not.

Thanks guys. I'll just train myself to get comfortable with 7'+ rods. The options for shorter rods are dwindling across the board and I've come to realize since posting this thread that I'll have to make the move before long anyways.
