I have a Humminbird Helix 7 DI GPS. The last time I went out fishing, going from one spot to the other, it just turned off. I stopped the boat and was able to get it back on again. But it happen again. Today I thought I’d try to do some troubleshooting. I got it back on and move the wire and it turned off.  I now can’t get it back on. My question is this, Could some of the wiring just gotten loose? Or is it time to get another one thanks for your input as always. By the way the Helix 7 is about 4 yrs old

Sounds like a loose wire to me. Time to start checking your connections.

I did that this afternoon, I’ll say that it is wired to the fuse panel, I’m not the best at wiring but did check the fuse which was good and also tried to Reattach the wiring.

I had the exact same problem with a Garmin unit I once had. Turned out to be a bad power wire. It sounds like you have a bad connection or either the wire needs to be replaced.

@LonnieP, I believe you are right about getting a new wire. I did some more checking with the connection and it seems to be getting loose. So I’m going to get a new one.
