.Paxamus. Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 Hey guys, Has anyone had any problems with those Sureset hooks on some of the DT series? I Like them, they stick fish in all kinds of places, but I feel like I am losing alot of them. Does anyone else use these and if so do you feel like they get hung up more than your normal hooked cranks? Quote
Infidel. Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 I know a lot of guys on here swear by them but I personally don't like them. I "feel" like I don't get bit as much with them but I think it is just a mental thing. I swap them out for Owners or Gamakatsus whenever I want a color pattern that comes with those hooks. Quote
Super User Bassn Blvd Posted July 9, 2007 Super User Posted July 9, 2007 I use them quite often and have not had any problems. Some days I get hit and some days I dont, When I do get hit though They get hooked. Quote
WhiteMike1018 Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 Ive had good success with the sureset hooks. I bought them separate and put some on the back of my jerkbaits. I haven't lost a fish with them yet. -WM Quote
.Paxamus. Posted July 10, 2007 Author Posted July 10, 2007 I love the hooks and almost put them on a couple of my older cranks that I do not want to lose, but was just wondering if it was in my head or not. I tell you though, throw a DT 16 all day and you will get a workout. Quote
linesider7 Posted July 10, 2007 Posted July 10, 2007 When those things first came out all I could think was "lost crankbait". Quote

If you can, get yourself a good cranking stick and a baitcaster with a 5 to 1 gear ratio. I use a TD-S 7ft cranking rod with a 5 to 1 Lews Speed spool and I have thrown DT 16's and other deep cranks all day with ease. Quote
Guest the_muddy_man Posted July 10, 2007 Posted July 10, 2007 Ilove the DT's especially in Brown/Craw and Bluegill. I gave up with the sure set THEY CERTAINLY LIVE UP TO THEIR NAME THOUGH They get caught on anything possible and I am accident prone by nature because i don't pay attention. After removing them from: My boat rope and carpet, my Tee Shirt and Ron's hat( He was wearing it at the time) I decided to stay with the regulatr DT's. Now thats not a knock on the bait just knowing my limitations Quote
Infidel. Posted July 10, 2007 Posted July 10, 2007 Gee Muddy, even on those few occasions when you are being serious you still make me laugh Quote
