Like some have said, the man using the rod/reel is the key to catching fish. KVD/Wheeler/Ehrler/Evers could use a Zebco202 and beat me on tournament day this weekend. I will say that there is a HUGE difference between Quantum reels and QuantumPT reels. When speaking to people about Quantum I always ask what reel they are speaking of. If it is a Quantum then yes, it will be for the guy that fishes a few times a year, that is why they are under $80. QuantumPT are for the weekend warriors/Pros that might fish 60+ times a year. Big difference in the branding there. Strike King owns Lew's, so KVDs time was up at Quantum, he had to follow along. Brauer, Hackney, Lee all followed the "big company" rules and have switched brands recently. BTW, my PT's are not for sale. I don't know, as fast as some of those guys like to cast, I may be able to win after all their reels lock up. I figure that will take about ten casts per rod, so if they have a dozen rods on the boat... nah, never mind, they'll still catch more. Quote
Lakeman70 Posted January 18, 2020 Posted January 18, 2020 I have 12 quantum pt"s have no problems with any ....started using quantum when the chameleon color puts came out Quote
hoosierbass07 Posted February 19, 2020 Posted February 19, 2020 Wow, I didn't know KVD went to Lews till today. Turned on the Fish Hard show and saw KVD using a jerkbait for small mouth bass in Michigan, something they show him doing two or three times an episode every year! lol. Then noticed he had on a Lews hat and then I noticed he had on a Lews jacket. I thought, huh? Great to see since I'm a Lews baitcaster fan. Hopefully they will come out with top of the line Lews KVD reels. Quote
