Jlyons992000 Posted September 20, 2019 Posted September 20, 2019 What’s the secret to wrapping guide towards the tip of the rod. Where the tip is more flexible it’s hard to keep the rod from flexing in the tip and making it hard to wrap Quote
Super User S Hovanec Posted September 20, 2019 Super User Posted September 20, 2019 No secret, just practice. And maybe having the supports pretty close together to minimize flex. Quote
Super User MickD Posted September 20, 2019 Super User Posted September 20, 2019 Close together supports. With a home made wrapper you may have to cobble some supports, or add a movable one. Quote
onthewater102 Posted November 27, 2019 Posted November 27, 2019 I've made 30+ rods at this point and I'm still searching for that vunder-cure for wraps close to the tip. Quote
Super User MickD Posted November 27, 2019 Super User Posted November 27, 2019 Answers above, no magic. It's all about support. Quote
Super User .ghoti. Posted November 29, 2019 Super User Posted November 29, 2019 I use an Alps power wrapper with five support stands. When I get within about a foot of the tip, I move the supports every time I move to the next guide. Basically, I have a support on each side of the guide I’m wrapping. Finish that one, move the supports, and start on the next. 1 Quote
