Dobyns fury, Sierra or champion xp?

I was wondering if I should get the fury, Sierra or champion xp. They will be 703sf. If I get the champion I can only get one rod. If I get the Sierra I can get 2 rods but the second will be around 50 dollars and if I get the fury I can get 2 rods and the second one will be about the same price.

I only have one Fury and it's a casting rod. While it's a nice rod, I'd rate it average for sensitivity. If you're looking for sensitivity for something like a bottom contact rod, I'd recommend the Sierra or Champ, whichever you can afford. I'd spend more money if you're looking for a rod you need to "feel" with.

Depends on how many other rods you have, OP. Two Sierras makes more sense to me if you don't have many rods. Get one spinning and one casting. Unless you really don't want casting, in which case sure get two spinning rods. But do both have to be the same exact 702sf?

Yea I will probably just go with 2 Sierras one med and other med heavy because I really only have one setup that works well I usually just use my friends rods so thank you for your help

I've never tried the Fury or Champion line but own a few Sierras and I wouldn't hesitate to buy another. They're not as sensitive as some other rods in my arsenal but for what I use them for they work well. I think you'll be happy.

I have a Sierra SA 703C and a Fury FR 705CB, I've been happy with both of them. I did save $40.00 on my Sierra rod, so every now and then you can find some good deals online.

I own the 703sf and 735c in the Fury line and have handled the 795c regularly.

 

if you need 2 set ups, go with the Sierra, and if you can get away with one go Champ. I like my Furys for what they are, entry level if I did it all over again. I would probably gone with Tatula or Sierra Rods.

I've got a fury med on my spinning outfit. I recently got a champion mh glass for my casting reel. I like them both but the solid feel of the arc when I've got a fish on  the line with the glass has made me a convert. I don't have a lot of rod experiences but I am really liking this rod. Hard to explain, It's like the fish and rod have an evenly balance tug of war; like the rod is fighting back.

Start with the single best you can afford. You can always add more later.

 

Get the champion.

I've got a Fury 734c, 702sf, 704c, Champion 702sf, 683sf and Sierra 703c, 734c. I feel that the sierra series are better moving bait rods as the action is more of a moderate fast and has less backbone than the Fury line. My champion 702sf also feels more sensitive than the Fury. It all depends on what you are looking to do with the rod. If you need a good bottom contact rod, go with the champion, otherwise stick with a fury or sierra. You can't really go wrong with any of them.
